I enjoy the game Sbi has made, and am not interested in freeloading enjoyment off the Dev team. I'm. Happy to support them with a simple $15/m and will continue to do so as long as I am enjoying their content. The worst decision SBI made was allowing you to earn the game for free with silver. If it had launched like normal subscription games, we're it's just simply $15/m and there is no option to earn it in game, then 90% of the content of this channel would be dead.

I hope they just entirely remove the ability to play the game for free and just do it like the other games with 900k monthly active users (albions current stats) like FFXIV and just do $15/m and then let people just choose if they want to play or not to play. This whole "how can we play the game for free, is always going to cost you more and more time.. Their biggest mistake was allowing that as an option.

The premium is not expensive for me if i pay for real money, however I still found it not worthable in most of the situation. I start playing this game as I love how it can choose your build and combine PvE and PVP together, it reminds me about UO at the very beginning. However, soon I realize that this game is not worth for solo/ small group PVE players (where I am one of those), just notice how they lower the rewards in solo dungeon and mobs grinding.
Nowadays, I just play it casual. As long as I have maxed out most skills I like, and already maxed out my tank/dps/support/healer build, I have no interest to pay for premium. If you are a solo/ small group PVE player, as swolebenji mention, premium may not worth at your end stage (depends, if you earn enough real money, feel free if it makes you happy); if you are a end stage PVP player, you probably can buy premium by ganking, this issue wont bother you.
Premium with buying if you are new player and really want to go far in the game.

Compare to other mobile game. 20per mth is considered cheap as a mthly card. Not gonna waste time farm silver for premium

Buying it with money is worth it for us/europe players. $15 is usually less or close to 1 hour of work, but for us (who live outside these regions) it is even more than 1 day of work (close to 1 1/2 days of work). If they could regionalize prices as Steam does with most games, maybe they would have more sells with premium.

whats funny is that premium is so high because people were using alts to farm which messed up the economy. SBI never intended for u to be able to do this. just pay the fucking 10 dollars a month which is lower than most other mmos then boom your island is all profit. Everyone wants SBI to continue to support and develop the game but no one wants to pay for premium. You cant get something for nothing

Get prem if you can pay for the 30 days working for a few minutes or hours with a job so when you get home you can actually do stuff you want instead of spending the next 6 hours grinding a checklist of chores on a monthly basis for the sake of grinding next months checklist of chores.

Honestly don't ever pay premium with silver. Considering that you can make millions from ganking in mists and black zones without needing premium that should tell you if you should get premium or not haha. Benji is right that the current cost of premium Vs making a profit out of premium doesn't match. I buy premium 7 days and that's all the premium I need in a month or every other.

If you spec up some craft to 100, you can earn 18mil per month only crafting with focus, maybe 1 hour per day

Personally, I don't care a lot about money, I care abour account progression. As getting premium is a very good way to progress your account, premium is worth it for me. But I get your point and I do agree, it's extremly expensive.

Premium is only $15 or working at McDonald's for 40 minutes or two six-packs of beer why would you grind for hours each day instead of having fun. Thank God I was born in the United States and I actually get to have fun playing a game instead of working in a game. Great videos you are the best teacher on line.
