I've seen SO many people die to car molestation. I've pumped in well over 2 thousand hours into this garbage game and not once have I been molested by a car. What gives?

You should know better than to go near cars or jump if your playing survival mode

Survival is how this game was meant to be played.

This happens all the time in fallout 4. Someone at Bethesda was a stupid poo poo and made a bunch of cars float a little bit, when you touch them the game corrects the cars and puts them down. This crushes the player, instantly killing them.

To put it bluntly, bethesdas “object cause death” has been an issue in skyrim as well, its all fun and games til you get vibe checked by a cheese wheel on the floot

I've had characters I was sure were immortal die instantly from stubbing their toe on a car

I remember just strolling down a road minding my business, until suddenly a car next to me decided it wanted to cross the road, running me over.

I wasn't even mad, it was funny!

That happens because cars are movable objects, and if you walk too close they ram into you repeatedly and you take insane damage.

Survival mode seems to think you have brittle bone disease and everything like jumping from a 2 foot wall can kill you.

obviously you took the wild genius perk which causes you to randomly stroke out

If on pc a simple ~ (resurrect) while clicked on you body will usually do it. Your moment might be locked depending on how quickly you ~’d. If locked again ~ and (save game “1”) and restart the game. Works for me every time. Also works for new vegas and fo3 just not on followers, It resets all affinity scores and fails companion quests but keep them as followers losing all loot on them at the time of resurrection

i now quicksave before touching a car, i've been jump scare by those cars so many times

Your character was definitely tripped up on Nuka Cola.

This is why I use a mod to add autosaves to survival mode. You just have to use the honor system and only load autosaves for crashes or bugs

I beat the game on easy to get the hang of it and I never ever died from touching cars, rocks, or "tripping over something" but survival has been different 🤦‍♀️. Wtf you mean I'm dead?? There's no enemies around and I'm perfectly healthy

Kinda your fault for messing about around cars in a gamebryo game...

This is why i play with both manual saves and console commands enabled on Survival.
This game is too wonky to not have these lol.

Just power armor

Cars have devastated more permadeath runs for me than raiders, super mutants, and deathclaws combined. It's so easy to relax and get casual about jogging past cars and then WHOOPS it shifted and your 500+ hp character couldn't handle it.

A thing I’ve noticed (or maybe it’s a type of placebo effect). If you see one of these cars on the road that aren’t completely destroyed & you’ll be traveling near/around it frequently. Blow it up.
I think once it’s been destroyed it’ll stay in its set place & wont be able to move. Cars that are still combustible will still move around, even slightly & that’s how the Collison effect kills you or incapacitates your companion.
But once it’s blown up. It’s just stuck down in place.

Survival mode is exciting but damnit, yesterday I had 45 minutes of gameplay, traveled far. Was close to Goodneighbor & was gonna rent the hotel room; I fought some raiders & one was legendary. I go in to collect the rare item off him….then the game crashed. I shut off the console & took a nap.

Exactly. My "I'm done with survival mode" stories were getting killed by a molotov through two walls and getting stuck doing the animation to hack a terminal. Fuck you, survival mode!
