What Does Compatibility Really Mean? The Gottman Method Relationship Advice

Hello
We are already married, our goals are different, my emotional intelligence is next to none, and I fear talking with my spouse. I have never learned about being in relationships or what work it is. I don't think I ever felt love or the things that are associated with love. I got married for the wrong reasons, twice.
Is there any hope of developing love or even friendship?
