Biography:
Patryk Kraśniewski is a pianist and composer form Poland, who has completed his studies at The Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wroclaw, earning a master degree in Jazz and Show Music in piano performance. Already in early years of his music education, Kraśniewski has won many prizes and awards, including special prize for the interpretation of the song in Paris (2000) and third place in Naples (2002). Moreover, in 2005 he had a unique tour in Sweden, where he has presented his own compositions. In recent years, has collaborated with many Polish musicians such as Marika and her Spokoarmia or Vavamuffin. In 2014, he has formed his new music project called Patryk Kraśniewski Trio featured drummer Jerzy Markuszewski and double bassist Piotr Lewańczyk. Known from other music and stage projects, Kraśniewski (reggae), Markuszewski (pop music) and Lewańczyk (classical music) found common ground with their musical paths.
Patryk Kraśniewski Trio is one of the laureates of the 2015 Music and Dance Institute Jazz Phonography Debut competition, taking place in Poland. As a winner, Kraśniewski released his debut album Less is Bless on 11 July 2015 with the collaboration with Karrot Kommando record label. On 11 July, Patryk Kraśniewski Trio performed also their debut concert at the prestigious Warsaw Summer Jazz Days. The festival was headlined by leading jazz artists such as Wayne Shorter, James Carter, Marcus Miller, Michael Brecker, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock or Melody Gardot. This year, Patryk Kraśniewski Trio joined a lineup that includes Brad Mehldau Trio, Giovanni Guidi Trio, Ambrose Akinmusire Quintet, Jason Marsalis Vibes Quartet, James Carter Organ Trio and Joey Calderazzo among others.
