I think Malcolm X was a great man and it was really unfortunate that he was assassinated and died so young.

Malcolm X remains is the greatest orator I have ever heard speak. Extremely eloquent and graceful in his approach, it immediately grasps one’s attention. The fact that this man educated himself from a prison cell is astonishing.

He spoke well, clear, with confidence, with the tone of leadership that told the bigoted that thought less of him not to try him, that told interviewers when he speak be silent and most importantly be respectful. I love his message and the efforts he put into making sure that message was heard.

These old films are great because they show that the same thing has been going on in this country since it was founded. Just like today, the only thing white America cares about is whether or not violence that could involve them is being advocated or practiced. The underlying complaint of a marginalized group is neither here nor there. People saying they are enduring great injustice is whatever, but the question always revolves around are you going to be civil so we can keep being uncivil to you in peace.
