So I’m 17 and I’m going into the military and In basic starting is 2000-3500 and this is monthly, and I signed up for full time so hopefully if I make it I will be making a bit more etc if I get higher in rank, but just thinking about the monthly part of being paid got me stressing mad because I have Goals of like I want to get a certain car, I want to eventually get a motorcycle. Etc, but then thinking about when I’m ready to go out on my own. How to I guess “budget” that money, and also investing it got me stressing😅 so this helped a lot

Sometimes I wonder do I have a scarcity mindset or am I just not a very big consumerist? I like clothes and I like looking good, but I see no point in buying loads of random bags, coats, shoes, etc. whereas I see a lot of people with even less money than I have a bigger wardrobe. Am I being stingy? I love being able to buy something, even if it’s like a £5 lamp that meets my needs and I get the feeling of “that’s the best £5 I ever spent” because it’s creating the environment I want. I spent £80 on a coat the other day at TK Maxx and normally I’d cringe at a purchase that big but I love how it makes me feel. I think people need to really think how they spend and ensure they’re buying things that they’re loving and are making them the person they want to be
