Random video in my feed but I clicked thru to the end to see the look. Sadly, it's style over function. Stepping over that baseboard threshold makes no sense no me, especially with a laundry basket in hand going in and coming out. It's sorta inevitable that it will get kicked and show scuffs, dents and/or bends.
ОтветитьVery cool door. I have 2 questions. 1 weird and 1 shop related. What is the natural color of your hair, only seen the light blue tint, and why are the handles on your cabinets in the workshop down by the ground instead of higher? Thanks.
Ответитьglad you're back, you were always one of my fav woodworking creators
ОтветитьAnother great video
ОтветитьGreat Job!!!!! Very Creative!!!
ОтветитьPlease wear proper ppe that includes a mask
ОтветитьGreat door build! Personally i would use door mounts that would allow the entire door to be hinged and therefore you could add trim on the side you wanna hide gaps from the door.
Would be visually hinges on the back side..but considering often those doors with hidden rooms behind isnt a room you typically stay in, then it shouldnt matter that much visually
Using chrome vinyl will make it les durable. You can acctually with some work polish up aluminum to a chrome like finish. First, sand it as smoth as you can with increasing grits and then use aluminum polishing combound with a buffing wheel on a drill. There's a Star Brite aluminum polish that will prevent oxidation that's used for boats that will prevent an mat oxidation layer to build up after. You might have to reaply it now and then since I don't know how fingerprints will affect the surfce but if it holds up to marine environment it should hold up for a bathroom.
Ответитьlooks great 😀
Ответитьawesome! my thoughts is maybe just buy aluminium polish with an orbital and make the door handle shiny like a mirror instead of the chrome vinyl because the finish leaves a lot to be desired imo. Also I know acrylic scratches super easily so i'm wondering how it'll hold how just with normal cleaning. i'd just get a long mirror at ikea and upcycle it or buttjoin two together. great video otherwise! you have great skills for the project and also for the pacing and video.
ОтветитьYou may want to trim those eye lashes at the outside corners for a more natural look
ОтветитьWhy is it a secret door
ОтветитьGreat idea. Perfect way to disguise the door.
ОтветитьWow, an Absolutely beautiful door to your laundry room using your superior and skilled Craftsmanship!
Well done!
Crazy! And I know that took a while by all the tee shirt changes. Curious why you didn't remove the sill plate at the bottom of the wall so you don't have a stepover. I'm sure being a new house you have leftover flooring material to do the patching. Or just do a threshold.
ОтветитьWas just wondering where you'd went. Glad to see you're back. Hope all has been well. Thank you for the content.
ОтветитьLooks nice but that trip hazard is a matter of when, not if it will happen.
Ответитьi,am very glad you are back and i hope you stay back every week. love from holland
ОтветитьGreat work! What’s the width of the door if I may ask?
ОтветитьNice job, my only concern is when either your washer/drier dies and you have to replace how are you going to get them out & in again without trashing your secret door?
ОтветитьSmall tip - Slower-setting epoxy (most brands offer 30 minute, for example) gives you more time to work and is also stronger once it sets.
ОтветитьI’d put the real toilet back there and put a fake one upfront so the kids couldn’t find me 😂. Open up the window and hang piece of clothing that you were wearing off of it and make it look like you climbed out and ran away 😂. You might as well put the bathtub and the wine cooler back in the same area. Hide from the rest of the family a couple hours a day.
It’s not like the rest of them know where the washer and dryer are to begin with 😮😅
MDF dust mmm yummo get a dusk mask save your own life
ОтветитьI’d really like to do this, but my bathroom is nowhere near my laundry room. 😂 kidding, always great videos.
ОтветитьLOVE IT! Taking notes for the future. :)
ОтветитьSlick build. Love the functionality
ОтветитьThis gave me some good ideas for a door I need to create in an unusual location and situation. Thanks for the tips!
Ответитьرائعة بحبك وبحب العمل معك
Ответитьno i think, hidden door, hidden room, good safe room
ОтветитьFirst time one of your videos came up in my feed, would love to see a little bit more of your planning to show how you decided on the mechanism prior to cutting things up. Also, is DP a sponsor? Because it sounded a bit like an ad, and it says includes paid promotion, just my two cents as a new viewer, but I prefer when the host says who the sponsor is when they do the sponsored, or put something on screen to show that that is in fact the part that’s sponsored
ОтветитьWatching more of the video, it’s clear that DP is your sponsor, but again, I prefer when the host says the sponsor is upfront, it kind of seems like it’s hard to know if your opinion of the product is legit or not because they’re sponsor, but you haven’t actually said that at the top of the video.and because you’re wearing the Home Depot T-shirt, now I have to wonder if you’re responsible by Home Depot as well.
ОтветитьAs the video gets towards the end, it almost gets too much when you’re touting the benefits of DAP. Starts to feel like just an ad rather than a DIY video. Would hope that for future videos you’re a little more upfront about all of that, it just feels better, especially because I’m not sure if you are promoting other brands as well and I don’t know.
The other thing I didn’t notice was when you put the frame around the door, did you mimic that shampoo again? It didn’t look like you did, and so did that end up mattering in the end?
Another thing that I would’ve liked to seen more of was exactly how the hinge gets installed, it doesn’t look like there’s a spring loaded part to it, so if you install the pins first, how do you get the door in there? Is there a cut out on one of the metal bars? I couldn’t tell.
Finally, I get from the end of the video that you have done this house custom for yourself from scratch. That’s cool, but this very narrow door doesn’t seem like it’s totally up to code, and if somebody is overweight, or has a wheelchair or a walker or something, they would have a lot of trouble using this new door you put in. Which is to say, I assume you’re planning on living in this house for the rest of your life, but features done this way could make it hard to sell.
Mmmmm..... Ryobi green everywhere. Oh, wait! What's that yellow? Dewalt? TRAITOR!
ОтветитьFuture you wants you to put on a dust mask.
ОтветитьSecret door? Say no more - I'm in! Love the magnet catch as well. Turned out great!
ОтветитьAwesome build. Not trying to be a backseat maker, but wear a respirator. Especially when cutting MDF. Nobody is a SnowflakeCuck for avoiding Lung Cancer by age 65.
ОтветитьNice job, i was wondering about the inset clearance. i just bought a Ryobi 6.5 saw like yours. I really like it better than my 7 1/4 Ridgid saw.
ОтветитьDesert Pro Tips for painting, pre wet your brushes, occasionally submerge paint brush in water while painting, keep an old but clean wet towel nearby and wrap your brush while not working.
ОтветитьWell this was a good idea until I heard the word barn doors+bathroom.
Great execution, looks really nice.
I was actually thinking of doing a half door in my basement bathroom to my closet where I would keep my hamper. This was inspired after seeing a laundry pass-through on a Texas house flipping show.
como el chapo :V
Ответитьthat cut job on your hinge.... beautiful!
Ответитьno woman escapes the wall
ОтветитьNeed more booty shots... It's 80% of why I watch... sad, but true.
ОтветитьOMG we had doors replaced in our whole place a few months after we moved in because they were garbage, hollow core doors that were literally coming apart. Our local door guy had a dedicated power plane set at 4 degrees to make room for the doors to close tightly. He'd just automatically run it across the latch side to get a proper solid fit. The 4 degrees is enough to make the clearance work nicely, but it's not enough that you even notice it when looking at the door.
ОтветитьAre you guys gonna do a budget on the house build!???
ОтветитьMDF is really bad for you. You should attach vacuums to your tools when cutting it and put on a dust mask.
ОтветитьA secret door. Wonderful. What happened to your hair? 😮Let me guess… you fell head first in a paint can?! 😂🤣😂
ОтветитьWhy do you go so many months between posting anymore? I have been a fan of yours since you started. And I love your channel! But, I do wish you would post more!
