WordPress Block Themes vs Classic Themes: A Beginners Guide

Hi, have discovered your channel recently. Your videos are excellent.
Question - if my site uses WP-Bakery - does that automatically put it in either of these two categories - Classic or Block?

The question is, "Should we still learn the classic theme development? Or we should start learning block theme development directly?".

Do you know any site that explains what is happening on the client side when pages are being created. Everyone hones in on what happens when someone requests a webpage but no one explains how the webpage got into the database in the first place. Cheers.

Thanks so much for this explanation! I have a very picture-heavy wp travel blog with an old, discontinued classic theme. I'm writing new posts just using the blog editor, but the site is really slow and I'm wondering if I would be better off switching to a block theme. Or is it better to just keep using plain Gutenberg going forward? Not a techie... just a confused photographer. :-)

That has been my biggest problem with the blocks. It seems that there are so many things that I can set, it becomes overwhelming and I get lost. Your short weekly videos have given me a lot of ideas, and still it seems as though I have the artistic ability of a 6 year old. Thanks, I do have hope!

Hi, we are Oxygen builder converts and are now using Pinegrow. We love it, because of the WordPress integration, whereby we make our own blocks. I'm interested to know whether you have come across it and your thoughts, if you have?

So are you still going to use child themes On top of the block theme to prevent any custom styles or functions from being overwritten when the next updates occur??

Hi Jamie, love the channel, I was just wondering in your opinion which is the best block theme to use or are they all the same...

I am a designer with basic programming knowledge in PHP and Javascript. So far I have been able to create websites with custom post types and custom metaboxes. I find block themes interesting, but I'm having a hard time extending them with custom post types and custom meta fields. I hope they will make those issues easier in the near future.

Love this. Working on a new site for my football supporter's club and may wish to put this in blocks. One of the standard Kadence WP themes I have is good but lots of re-writing of pages to make it do what I want.

Another straight and to the point video . Thanks for your no nonsense approach to explaining what can be a daunting thing to learn. The fact that it is aways changing and evolving is a challenge to keep up with and you make it so much easier to keep up with those changes.
I,m re-tooling a live website for a non profit that I am involved with and your videos are such a huge help .
