I love your technique and the friendly rapport with your patients. I find the pops relaxing and I don't mind you telling us when there's an ingrown hair... but it really grosses me out, when you smoosh the plug and show us a close-up. 🤢🤮

This guy needs to take some lessons from the Asian women who use the sharp needle to open the pore first. It would make the job easier and save the patient some pain.

is there anything that can be done to prevent these ingrown hairs? Exfoliation? Moisturizer? Both? I have a horrible time on the back of my thighs with ingrown hairs that get inflamed. I've not found anything that helps, but of course, this could be because you sit on the back of your legs. I'll assume it's relatively the same thing for those women with blackheads under and between the breasts. This is where bras sit, so it's constantly rubbing and literally sands off the hair to skin level, and if the skin is dry or irritated, that hair is going to turn and grow inward.

Same goes for women without hidradenitis that get cysts/abscesses in the armpit. In my experience (having helped drain many of these as an ER nurse), they're caused by wires in the bras.
I had a patient once that didn't believe me. While she was dressing and still numb (and with dressing in place), I told her to put her bra on (temporarily) to see where that end of the wire hit her. Lo and behold, the end of the wire hit exactly where the lesion was.

Wires give good support ... ish. Nylon is supposed to be innert, but it's not, so some folks could have an allergy to the nylon thread in both the seams and the decoration (I do and it was verified by an allergist) ... and if you've ever felt nylon thread as compared to cotton, you would understand how nylon thread actually cuts the hairs off quite easily.

So, for women with significant issues like this, wires and nylon threads aren't your friend.

This young lady develops long hairs on her chest and these become ingrown and clogged.

I find this fascinating because i can never get the ones under my breast because i have to hold it up. Usually for me its because of wearing my bra to tight or using a sports bra to much

From experience I would say that probably all of those on her chest have a hair in them. Like the pt stated “The reason there is a pimple is because of a hair!” From my experience if you still have a lot of villus hair on chest or back if you do get a breakout like this one it is usually due to the villus hair getting infected.

My Mother got acne almost until she died at 83. At 80 she moved to a no smoking retirement community. Within just a few months of not smoking her blackheads and acne cleared up. Just passing this along to smokers that may be experiencing skin problems. My husband’s skin also cleared up after he stopped smoking.

I have a question. I grew up with acne and as I got older its pretty much gone now, I guess I just outgrew it. My honest question is with someone like this that can see to pop them herself why wouldnt she? If the person is out here, could you tell me? It's a honest question and I'm just curious. If i had that on my chest, I couldnt leave it alone lol

Salicylic acid and good ol scrubbing. The dead skin in the girls fingers is a testament to how well she scrubs or cares for her skin. Just a thought it could only help to slough off the skin chemically and physically the skin surface!!?!?!

I’ve never had a breakout on my chest like this but some of the really bad pimples etc I’ve had in that general area hurt so I can only imagine what this lady is feeling!! Hope anyone with acne like this finds relief soon, even if it makes good content 💕
