ОтветитьI am intrigued by the ‘cannons inspired by last year’s Mercedes. Not so much by the cannons themselves but what they are having in there. Have they somehow lifted the entire gearbox assembly further up. Normally one would assume the space would be used for cooling but the side pod have hardly shrunk so why?

ОтветитьCan't see airflow like Newey but the rear of the car where the Coanda effect is pulling the airflow down to the beam wing and the diffuser...I wonder at high speed does the airflow separate from the body slope and stall the rear wing to reduce the drag and keep Red Bull ahead with their crazy straight line speed.

Don't forget that in case the RB20 doesn't work out, the RB19 is probably still faster than the rest on most tracks.
Pretty sure than we're going to see more details next during testing...
Scar on Ferrari : I’m disappointed with the Ferrari, they’ve gone quite conservative and it’s not radical enough.
Scar on Red Bull: RB looks quite conservative and it’s not a real nose. I’m sure they’re hiding a lot of performance 😂
so weird of RB to hide the sidepod inlets...do they think everyone is going to redesign their cars to copy between now and the season start??

ОтветитьRumor is redbull is going to introduce the no pod design at Japan when they do their first major update. I don't know if that's true but It would make sense that something big is coming because redbull never shows their actual car at reveals and it would be weird If they suddenly chose to do it this year.

ОтветитьI don't thing we can say that they have "the most clever solutions" cause it hasn't be proven yet....however, they do have a pretty aggressive development approach and an Andrian Newey, so chances are in their favor...
ОтветитьDo you think it is possible the vertical is actually the cooling inlet and they've turned the entire sidepod, with no horizontal inlet, into a purely aerodynamic element? Could there be any advantage or disadvantage you see with that?

ОтветитьPlease stop calling the RedBull zero side pods. The 2024 car has bugling sidepods. The only thing they copied from Mercedes is the vertical inlets, and the engine cover canons.
