I almost didn't watch it thinking it would be boring. WELL it was not in any way. So much going on seemed like our family especially the flooding. We were blocked in (thank God it didn't flood our home or anything)for a whole 7 days. So, watch this movie. Schroder was so good They all were. Thanks Rare Films

Loved the movie except for the ending. Miracles do happen. I think the family should have taken the mother with them. She could have gotten a miraculous healing, who knows. Sorry to perceive this in a negative light, but these were very religious people, and for her to stay would be suicide. That is against their religious faith. Also, to put this in a very realistic manner, what would be the aftermath of the flood, finding her dead body floating in the water. So the beauty of the drama in the final scene is not realistic. Part of a strong religious background is to have faith, but it appears that she did not have faith and just gave up. No matter how much suffering she went through, she should have continued to endure it for her family.

This movie still brings a tear to my eye. Beautiful story of forgiveness, acceptance, and family. Thank you and wishing you a terrific day.
