First I use a smartphone, then I got zoom h1 it goog for me

I just started in the end of 2022 and my choice is Zoom H2n with WSU-1 as a recorder.
Plus cheap aliexprs law mic and boya by-mm1 as on camera mic.

Do you manage your own filming for these or do you let someone else do that?

I use a Zoom H5 With a RØDE NTG4+ with xlr connection, RØDE Blimp Windshield and Shock Mount System, with wind protector. Just love to go out and field record nature. I record mono and create stereo file using Adobe Audition. I never considered selling my files lol I would not know how to. Liked and Subscribed

Great videos. I'm using the H4N Pro, Audio Technica BP4025, and Superlux E 525L. Sometimes I'll run the mics through an Azden FMX-32 for the preamps, and then out to the H4N Pro.

Hi, I am facinated by the sounds that you record. I am just wondering. How did you elimminate those wind sounds completely? I have a zoom h1 here but even if I use the windscreen, there were times that I can still here the wind blowing off the microphone especially the blow of the wind is quite loud.

I am a location sound recordist based out of Kerala, India. I use my Zoom H6 with Rycote Windjammer and my Sennheiser 416 for most of my work. Done all sorts of projects including feature films. I just found your channel and it's done nicely !

Lol I went ahead and bought a Hate (H8) to start. I want a good shotgun mic though and I’m not too into the parabolic setup because of the coloration. I would rather just try to get animals to approach me. Even though it takes more work it seems like it might be pretty special. Any recommendations on a good, sturdy, and clean shotgun mic would be much appreciated. I also don’t want to bring a super expensive mic into the woods.

I have an old Olympus LS 10 model and Sennheiser headphones. It's enough for me to start with. I am thinking about the Tascam dr40 recorder model or the h4n zoom. Greetings from Poland.

Started with Zoom H1n and quickly bought the F6 to have more capabilities. Considering upgrading F6 to MixPre 10t in the future.

Thank you for sharing this! im living out in Thailand. On small journey to pursue turning my daily routine and everything this city has to offer in the form of sound and field recordings. Your videos have motivated me even more to craft a personal identity and very excited to experience the process and enjoy it all at the same time.

I use a zoom H4N Pro, with a Rode Lav+ and a Rode NTG2, with a Rode Blimp which I increase the preamps with an line Fethead Phantom. I record sound effects and field recordings for increased immersion with my audio fiction stories. I also use sound libraries such as Storyblocks, epidemic sound and your sound libraries. I edit my recordings with Audacity.

I started with the Tascam DR60D, then the Roland R4 Pro before getting the Sound Devices 633.

In 2018 I started with Tascam Dr-60d. Worked ok, then moved to Tascam 680 then sound devices 688.

Man, I've been following you for a year or two now and everytime I get outside and record or watch any of your videos I tell myself that this is what I'll do. But than 9-5 happens and I forget again. And I have a degree in Sound Design, no excuses left here.

lol bought your pack on Bandcamp, and then here I am o.O Zoom H2n was my first. Surprisingly great for the price! Zoom provided a mid-side decoder VST even. Now I want to move up to a H6 and keep the h2n for times I might want to tuck it some place hidden and record nature all night. It's 10 years old at this point, though I have not done field recording that long >_> I do have a small personal collection though :D

What have you started? I'm 65 and wanted to create sounds for my drone videos as they don't record sound. Then I found you and I'm now off on a completely different direction since I bought a sound recorder. This is going to be great fun! Thanks.
