Hi! What wood you buy in 2023 as your first recorder?
Thanks😊
First I use a smartphone, then I got zoom h1 it goog for me
ОтветитьI just started in the end of 2022 and my choice is Zoom H2n with WSU-1 as a recorder.
Plus cheap aliexprs law mic and boya by-mm1 as on camera mic.
You have really nice channel🔥
Just going through a few of your older videos tonight. Very inspirational as usual and always great to go back for a reminder of your early days.
Ответить❤
ОтветитьDo you manage your own filming for these or do you let someone else do that?
ОтветитьI use a Zoom H5 With a RØDE NTG4+ with xlr connection, RØDE Blimp Windshield and Shock Mount System, with wind protector. Just love to go out and field record nature. I record mono and create stereo file using Adobe Audition. I never considered selling my files lol I would not know how to. Liked and Subscribed
Ответитьgreat video, you are inspiring :)
ОтветитьI found your recordings of Phong Nha, Vietnam on Bandcamp a few minutes ago and decided to look up videos on field recording and chose yours at random. Thanks for the huge boost of inspiration!
ОтветитьThanks for your awsome videos
ОтветитьAppreciate the video!
ОтветитьThanks!
ОтветитьThanks for your generosity!
ОтветитьGreat videos. I'm using the H4N Pro, Audio Technica BP4025, and Superlux E 525L. Sometimes I'll run the mics through an Azden FMX-32 for the preamps, and then out to the H4N Pro.
ОтветитьVery inspiring, thanks!
ОтветитьSo glad I found you, just invested in some field recoding equipment and this is extremely helpful
ОтветитьJust started with zoom h5 with a simple accessory kit + audacity. Quite enjoying so far... thanks for your videos :)
ОтветитьHi, I am facinated by the sounds that you record. I am just wondering. How did you elimminate those wind sounds completely? I have a zoom h1 here but even if I use the windscreen, there were times that I can still here the wind blowing off the microphone especially the blow of the wind is quite loud.
ОтветитьThis content is incredible. You should have 200,000 subscribers.
Ответитьyour passion is contagious
Cheers!
The H4n is the best Investment I've made. love how it doubles as an audio interface for music production!
ОтветитьThank you for this!
Ответитьi am a big fan of you
ОтветитьMan I really respect your attitude! You are really trying to build a community of field recordists to share experiences with. I'm thinking of picking up field recording as a hobby. Sounds interesting. Keep up the good work!
ОтветитьHello! Thank you for your amazing video, you were able to motivate me a lot. I’m totally new in the field recording world and I wanted to know if starting with a Zoom h8 it could be okay or maybe it’s too much (I mean, too professional for me).
I know someone who is selling it for a very good price but I really don’t know what to do.
My goal would be mainly to record industrial sounds and cities sounds!
Thanks in advance :)
I just picked up an Zoom H2N prior to discovering your channel. You just pumped me up even more! About to dive into all your videos!! I also just ordered the universal zoom wind protector per your recommendation using your link in the description!
ОтветитьThank you, friend! It was very helpful and useful) I am a sound designer, and field recording is definitely good deal for me!) 👍
ОтветитьI am a location sound recordist based out of Kerala, India. I use my Zoom H6 with Rycote Windjammer and my Sennheiser 416 for most of my work. Done all sorts of projects including feature films. I just found your channel and it's done nicely !
ОтветитьLol I went ahead and bought a Hate (H8) to start. I want a good shotgun mic though and I’m not too into the parabolic setup because of the coloration. I would rather just try to get animals to approach me. Even though it takes more work it seems like it might be pretty special. Any recommendations on a good, sturdy, and clean shotgun mic would be much appreciated. I also don’t want to bring a super expensive mic into the woods.
ОтветитьI have an old Olympus LS 10 model and Sennheiser headphones. It's enough for me to start with. I am thinking about the Tascam dr40 recorder model or the h4n zoom. Greetings from Poland.
ОтветитьAwesome! I'm going to buy the Zoom Hn2!! Thank you for what you do :D
ОтветитьThank you for sharing, this is really helpful!
ОтветитьStarted with Zoom H1n and quickly bought the F6 to have more capabilities. Considering upgrading F6 to MixPre 10t in the future.
ОтветитьI wanna record sounds but I always think that I have to record incredible sounds so I record all most nothing. I like your channel because you show me that I can record everything. Thank you 🙃
ОтветитьNew follower here! I like it when u said, “You have to be uncomfortable” & I totally agree! Cheers and it was awesome. I mean I didn’t understand much of the sound technicality rather I enjoyed your advices and overall talk.. 😊
Ответить@Free To Use Sounds, hello !!
great video man it helped a lot. Just wanted to ask how u deal with the zoom preamps cause i heard that they have a bit of noise, and what do u think of a zoom h6 for a beginner
thank you
Thank you for sharing this! im living out in Thailand. On small journey to pursue turning my daily routine and everything this city has to offer in the form of sound and field recordings. Your videos have motivated me even more to craft a personal identity and very excited to experience the process and enjoy it all at the same time.
ОтветитьI use a zoom H4N Pro, with a Rode Lav+ and a Rode NTG2, with a Rode Blimp which I increase the preamps with an line Fethead Phantom. I record sound effects and field recordings for increased immersion with my audio fiction stories. I also use sound libraries such as Storyblocks, epidemic sound and your sound libraries. I edit my recordings with Audacity.
ОтветитьThank you for the access and the use of your extensive library
ОтветитьThank you for this video!👍
ОтветитьWith my Olympus LS-12, nature and objects here I come! Even when Sound is lo-fi I can use it :-)
ОтветитьAwsome audio contents!! Thanks! You teach me a lot in all your videos and sounds!!
ОтветитьI started with the Tascam DR60D, then the Roland R4 Pro before getting the Sound Devices 633.
ОтветитьIn 2018 I started with Tascam Dr-60d. Worked ok, then moved to Tascam 680 then sound devices 688.
ОтветитьHi Marcel.
What would you recommend for new starter. Zoom H1N + Roland CS-10EM or Zoom H2N?
Many Thanks
Man, I've been following you for a year or two now and everytime I get outside and record or watch any of your videos I tell myself that this is what I'll do. But than 9-5 happens and I forget again. And I have a degree in Sound Design, no excuses left here.
Thank you for being such an inspiration and for sharing your knowledge!
lol bought your pack on Bandcamp, and then here I am o.O Zoom H2n was my first. Surprisingly great for the price! Zoom provided a mid-side decoder VST even. Now I want to move up to a H6 and keep the h2n for times I might want to tuck it some place hidden and record nature all night. It's 10 years old at this point, though I have not done field recording that long >_> I do have a small personal collection though :D
ОтветитьThis was helpful. Thank you! I will start with the Sony PCM A 10. Something about the internal battery and storage...I don't know.. I think this one is for me.
ОтветитьYou are amazing! Thank you for sharing and inspiring!
ОтветитьWhat have you started? I'm 65 and wanted to create sounds for my drone videos as they don't record sound. Then I found you and I'm now off on a completely different direction since I bought a sound recorder. This is going to be great fun! Thanks.
