Here we have chocolate clams, they are big, and the similar looking shucking knife, is not sharp, it is used to force the hinge apart, not from the front.
ОтветитьOysters and clams and just clap your hands and just clap your hands.
ОтветитьI'm still thinking about why am I watching this video 😮
ОтветитьLast Thanksgiving, one of my relatives brought 100 oysters from his friend's farm on the Virginia coast. I shucked around 30 and got the hang of it because I have watched enough videos or have seen it at restaurants. Make sure to wear the glove for many reasons, from safety to keeping them dry and clean. At the Union Oyster House in Boston, they bang the shucking knife on 150-year old stones and force the oyster hinge to cut from the downward force. One great condiment is Kikkoman Ponzu soy sauce with added vinegar. It's mild, sweet, citrusy, and has low sodium.
ОтветитьSet it down so you don't slip and stab your hand.
ОтветитьI use to chuck oysters for my dadwhen I was a kid we used a flat head

ОтветитьThe mere thought of eating clams and oysters turns my stomach.🤢
ОтветитьAmazing. But you did a better job shucking with Brad from Bon Appetit
Ответитьthat knife looks pointy. I usually use butter knife.
ОтветитьSorry munchies but I think y'all missed put on a ton of information on this one. Like who's allergic to which and if it's possible to have bad ones. How to tell? So many questions left unanswered. On to the next video.
ОтветитьI just got oysters to try for the first time. Mine was tough to open, but the meat itself is a light gray/transparent color. Is this okay to eat?
ОтветитьFrieing an oyster should only be done after you have had several raw. The Fried oyster takes on a different flavor. Raw is much better.
ОтветитьI never liked them. And i just had a couple about a month ago. Now i get em whenever i can
Ответитьis there a way to tell which direction the clam is sitting?
ОтветитьI'm a short drive from Apalachicola. And Chefed on Cape Cod for a few seasons. And I love all oysters that I've tried. What a neat dude and cool video. We have great ones down here in Apalachicola Bay. But there's several kinds up the Eastern Seaboard and I love the variety

ОтветитьOne dab of tobacco for me.
ОтветитьSet the raw oyster on a saltine cracker, add lemon juice , a touch of Tabasco sauce and a dab of horseradish , chase with cold beer! Raw oysters Florida style.
ОтветитьLove raw oysters, steamed clams, caviar, steamed crabs, shrimp etc.. . been eating them all my life... also love hush puppies..
ОтветитьAre oysters safe to eat raw? "You can get seriously ill and even die from eating raw oysters contaminated with Vibrio vulnificus - a bacterium commonly found in waters where oysters are cultivated such as the Gulf of Mexico. Vibrio vulnificus is found in higher concentrations during the summer months as water becomes warmer." Hepatitis A is one; another is toxoplasmosis. The biggest risk factor for acquiring this parasitic infection is the consumption of raw oysters,” Dr. Moore said. “It's like Russian roulette. So why are they served raw and how do farms check for this?
ОтветитьGloves are for frightened stabie newbies forcing too much. A sidetowl/dishcloth is more than enough, including on day one. Pop and scrape, wipe the oyster knive all the time, never stick it in dirty, and keep it all very clean. Perfect flip and present, and if there's even the tiniest bit of shell or skank, it is a failure and a discrace to the oyster. The way to learn is to get a job doing it, or host a party with forgiving friends and shuck a couple hundred of them in a row.
ОтветитьI love clams but hate oysters. Totally different taste.
ОтветитьRIP SHUCK DUDE..SHUCK IN PEACE MY DUDE
ОтветитьI've never tried oysters. Always thought it was gross but how many videos I've seen of oysters and how many people love them makes me feel like I'm missing out and wanna try em
ОтветитьWho like rocky mountain oysters

ОтветитьAre oysters not filter fish ? I heard that they have to be treated before eating as they filter water , is that correct ? Because he looks like he’s just eating them straight out of the water.
ОтветитьThis guy doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground
ОтветитьI've had fried oysters, I've never had raw oysters and RN I'm craving raw oysters. Guess pickles and ham sandwiches will have to do.
ОтветитьFuck oysters and clams
ОтветитьReally informative! Just curious, do these animals feel pain?? I've always wondered this. I want to eat an oyster but... Yea I don't know :D It doesn't look tastefull

Ответитьcan you use white rice ? instead of kosher salt?
ОтветитьYummy 😋
ОтветитьBoy, I had to wade through a whole bunch of videos to finally get to one with a detailed explanation of the correct method of shucking. Great job!
ОтветитьInteresting insights, but opening oysters this way is more dangerous and slower than the regular 2/3rd 1/3rd method.
Plus you have the open them totally when doing that, so you'll never be able to have 3rd water for oysters raised in very dark or salty waters.
