My Hubby and I wanna live on the gulf, maybe Destin, Seaside, Anna Maria, Cape Coral or Bonita Springs.

Been there twice and going back this year for another look. Hope to live here in the near future!

I'm from England and I've never heard of this place until now. The sheer scale and size of the place is incredible to me. I'm aware that a tonne of people move to Florida to retire and it's often portrayed as some form of running joke on film/TV...but damn, this is the dream! I'd live here in a heartbeat. And i'm only 38!

The Villages (and many others like The Villages) are ruining the Florida landscape and destroying wildlife habitats. It’s a sick and selfish way of life Americans continue to latch onto. Not sorry to those who disagree.

The fact that they have a worker village outside of the villages is incredibly classist and disgusting.

Although it is crazy is how car centric it is and how few people use their cars.

The Villages is a MAGA shit hole.

Seams like a Disneyland because it is. Every month even if you are on vacation for a month in Europe, you WILL pay the entrance fee to that Disneyland. If you don't then the HOA will put leans on your home. For some, they love paying fees every month or the $3,600 a year there in the Villages. But not me. I want to be free to own my house and not worry about my next door neighbor who is the president of the HOA getting pissed at me and wanting me out of the HOA. I will never live where my neighbor can tell me when I have to cut my grass or what color I can paint my home. I feel people who live in those type of communities are mentally sick. They are not Americans because America was built on Freedoms. In an HOA you do NOT have any freedoms. Just restrictions and by-laws. No Thank You!

They start bringing in young adults and families with teenagers….i bet crime will rise. The drug problem and just dealing with “ some young adults” before they mature is probably going to make the villages not as safe. I like keeping the villages for 55 and older- it just naturally keeps crime low
