This video is extremely useful. I was researching for tense sequence usage in different medium, eg news, story, business report. This video enlightened me. Can you do a video on the tenses for news? Thank you
Ответить😂 I had a good laugh with your year trip to Australia ending in Torremolinos!
ОтветитьWhy we can't use past continuous instead of the cases in the text past perfect continuous? I scratch my head, because It is still in past. Because he was older than 18, when he had been working or was working. It is so confusing, help me please
ОтветитьAs an English learner, This is kind a video i have been looking for, you know to identifying tenses on story, news or article. I thank you for providing this kind of information. But i want to fully grasp english by learning english stories, therefore, May i ask you is there any other of your videos that could show more? I mean a story that could identify most of the grammar not only past, present and future tense but you know like gerunds, passive voice, if clause etc? Sorry, i think i am asking to much but i should ask anyway just maybe you have what i have been looking for years, thank you Mr. Ben. Sorry for the inconvenience.
ОтветитьSimple explanation , but helped me so much. Thanks
ОтветитьOn my first day of high school school, l woke up at the crack of dawn and l was ecstatic to make new friends. Once l got there l bumped into my middle school best friend it was so lovely to see her l hadn't seen her for a year so while we were chatting another friend turned up he was one of our old classmates from elementary school "what a pleasant surprise " He said. Then, when lunch time came we decided to reminisce our old school days by going to our favorite italian restaurant down the block and when we got there we ran into our middle school teacher, so we sat down together the four of us and had the time of our life.
I know it wasn't as interesting as l wanted to be, but it's a real story so l hope you like it. ❤
this video is priceless, thanks you so much
ОтветитьVery good Explanation
ОтветитьThank you for this lovely videos, could you also make a video Tense-shifting, as when a native speaker tells a story, they go back and forth between all the past and present tense and its forms while telling a story as it gives a dramatic or immediacy effect. 🙏🙏
ОтветитьAmazing video. Kudos master!
ОтветитьThank you for this explanation.
ОтветитьThanks for the great knowledge sir
ОтветитьSuper!!! This helped me a lot 🤗
ОтветитьI love your lessons.
My wife is English, my son was born in England 🇬🇧 I'm sure he's English will be better than mine 😁. But I'm working on my proficiency level to be able to express myself fluently. I want to achieve c1 level 😍
You are the best!
ОтветитьGreat 😂
ОтветитьHello, Ben! Thank you so much for all of your amazing videos. I have just received my C1 Advanced Certificate ❤️
ОтветитьIf only I would have stumbled upon this video a few days ago. It would have been so helpful to have all this fixed in my mind today when I started telling one of my classmates about my athletic "history". I felt quite embarrassed by my explanations since I was talking to an exchange student from the U.S.A. However, I still managed to get my idea across. Thank you so much for this video, Ben! Really helpful! I am glad I watched it now! It is never to late.👍 Moreover, I am also preparing for the CAE exam so, since this is my first comment here, I just want you to know how relevant your videos are! Thank you once again! 🙏
ОтветитьHello Ben, here comes a long message. I passed the CAE! With a grade A. I don't even think I'm that good in English, tbh. Welp, your videos were a vital piece for it as were your recommendations. You recommended Engxam and I assure any exam taker reading this, that that platform is extremely useful for the CAE and similar exams. Thank you for the fancy words, tips, and related. I will most definitely keep watching your videos (like this one) since I'm writing a novel for fun. Thank you!
ОтветитьIs that necessary to take B2 before taking C1? is that necessary to take C1 before taking C2 test? please explain these matters. thanks!
ОтветитьGreat lesson! Thank you, Ben! 👍
ОтветитьIt's great to see the text with diferent colours for the verb tenses and the arrow to explain verbal tenses is always key. One little thing: you probably meant 'to earn some money' . On the screen it reads 'to earn to money'. All the best.
ОтветитьGreat,Ben 👌 Your video “arrives” exactly just in time, as I have been reading during 4 or 5 months 🧐with repetitions, novels of Jane Austen “Northanger Abbey” and “Pride and Prejudice”. This is my so-called preparation to soon CPE exam. Especially after I read last year that the writing part may consist of tasks related to one of this novel
ОтветитьWhen I watch your videos I always repeat your words, not sure if its a good thing or bad lol
ОтветитьI had learnt English on my own before I attended an English school. Reading books helped me to gain a good vocabulary and consequently to tell a story. The more we read the wiser we become. I really appreciate your videos. Thanks once more!
ОтветитьI’m really made up to have found this wonderful video😆
ОтветитьThis diagram illustrates some tenses in a very nice way, great job. I've been learning English for some time now but I'm still making some mistakes when it comes to English tenses.
ОтветитьIsn’t it just “saw him in 2009” because we specify the time?
ОтветитьThis is my example Ben which is actually real because it happened when I finished the bachelor's degree. "When I was 25, fresh out of the Bachelor's degree, I decided to take a gap year and explore the world. I had always been fascinated by the idea of travelling to a foreign country and learning a new language, so I chose Mexico as a destination. It was a completely new experience for me, as I had never been outside of Europe before. At the time, I was living with my parents, so I needed to save up money for the trip. Luckily, my friends came to the rescue and gifted me a travel voucher. However, it wasn't enough to cover my expenses for the entire trip, so I had to find a job as a lifeguard for a few months to save some extra cash. Anyway, after working for two months, I finally had enough money to head to Merida, a beautiful colonial city that I had chosen to spend my gap year. I was so excited to spend New Year's Eve on the beach, soaking up the sun like a lizard. As soon as I arrived in Merida, I was struck by the warmth and friendliness of the people, the delicious food, and the stunning sandy beaches with crystal clear waters. I spent a few months exploring the southern part of Mexico, which was full of history and culture. I got to see the Maya pyramids and wandered around bustling street markets. To be honest, it was an eye-opening experience that allowed me to learn about the traditional ways of life, customs, and beliefs. As my gap year came to an end, I returned home to Italy, feeling refreshed and inspired to start the next chapter of my life. I decided to pursue a master's degree in marine biology. Thanks to my time in Mexico, not only did I gain a deeper appreciation for different cultures, but I also returned home with a new language in my toolbox. Looking back on my gap year, I can say that it was truly a once-in-a-lifetime adventure that helped me grow as a person. I will always cherish the memories of my time in Mexico and the lessons I learned along the way."
ОтветитьI had just watched one of your old videos this afternoon but was looking forward to a new one. I had been waiting for a while and it never seemed to come. So I decided to go out with some friends. As soon as I left home, I received the expected notification, but it wasn't until I got back that I was able to enjoy it. Nice learning with you, Ben. Thank you so much! 🤗
