XCOM 2: War of the Chosen - Inside Look: The Reaper

How many of you are going to have a Reaper in your squad when War of the Chosen launches on August 29?

The Reapers are probably my favorite of the factions to play with. On my current playthrough, I rolled Squadsight and Shredder on Outrider, so she usually ends up breaking concealment to fight like a normal (If not super OP) sniper - With Banish/Annihilate, a Superior Extended Magazine, and Tactical Rigging to allow for Bluescreen Rounds, she can just delete a Sectopod in a single move - while I got the chance to recruit a new Reaper later on, and specced her fully into stealth.

Hanna "Haunt" Karlsen is her name, and "Haunted" is probably a good word for how the Aliens feel when she's around. Sting, Remote Start and two Shrapnel-boosted Claymores let her cause massive explosions out of nowhere, and with Silent Killer, her shots come out of nowhere like bolts from the blue to pick the survivors off one by one. Most missions, she never even leaves Shadow.

Their gun is peashooter
but with those tactical abilities... They do uno reverse card

Reaper conceal theirself so Reaper like Elena Dragunova don't get light by advent

Good for missions, not good for long draw out fights.

Dear Xcom developement team.
I have had cases and of many cases, which saved files in ironman wont load anymore, this really sucks out the fun, the challenge, the idea of truly making decisions, when to abort missions, how to build your soldier, covert missions etc is so being absolutly destroyed.
Since there is no no guarante you can play to the full end and potential.
Please fix this issue.

I love this class 💪

Reapers are the strongest by far, followed by Templars and then Skirmishers, I rather have a Ranger than a Skirmisher

This is the single most useless class in xcom 2. They should do a massive rework for this class if they wish to introduce this class again in xcom 3. Why did the devs think it was a good idea to nerf the damage output of their primary weapon. A sniper class easily outweighs this class in all aspects. This class has too many abilities which are good for only specific scenarios.

Reapers are the most useful out of the three WotC Factions as they're primarily used as scouts.

These new units look so powerful that I don't even know why I should be using regular xcom soldiers at all.

Huh. Way to take a cue from Long War 2, guys. I hope this new Reaper stealth system gets more attention in future installments.

Hmmmm yes these will make for some fun solo-op blacksite missions considering it's very hard to get spotted during shadow concealment

Does anyone know if we can have more than one soldier as these new classes? I only ask cause I would like to have at least two Reapers so when one get's exhausted I still have another one to put into my squad to fight for a while.

You know the Reaper is never gonna be able to shoot without breaking concealment with how the RNG system is out for blood. No matter how well you do, you'll always lose your veteran to a Sectoid firing at them from a mile away while the veteran is behind heavy cover.

Maybe reapers should get bonus damage while in shadow concealment

assuming direct control!

You know I appreciate the idea of Shadow concealment with the whole doing shit in stealth, but that would probably take longer.

Considering about 70% of missions are timed.
