I jars to hear the voices augmented through the microphones. They are both wonderful singers so I’m sure it sounded a thousand times better live. The voices just don’t blend well in this recording. I have heard Bryn Terfel sing this live in a concert in Caernarfon Castle with Gwyn Hughes’s Jones. It sounded ethereal, so I’m sure that this live performance would have done too.

I am from The Netherlands. I was 13 or 14 years old (now 62) when I first heard this piece of music by Bizet (performers Marco Bakker and Charles Holland). As if I came into a fairytale forest, so beautiful. This really has to be one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever. Fantastic from start to finish. Here I also add the version of the artists I mentioned. Unfortunately there is no better recording of it, has not been released on CD as far as I know, but it is on LP. For me is the version of Marco and Charles the very best. But that's also because I'm a chauvinist. 😃😃

Ever since I heard this duet sung at the Bocce Ball in North Beach of San Francisco in the 70's I have loved the harmony and passion of this gorgeous piece of music!!! Wonderful to hear it with Bocelli doing half of the honors. Thank you!!!
