wow... I don't realise the SNES fan club was so upset by the use of a SA-1 chips. it's really immature! I can understand those reactions IF the SNES never use this chip in particular on others games... but the use of SA-1 ( in particular ) was use really often for games and majority's of those games far less impressive than Xenocrisis. and and don't speaking for all the others chips use in a variety of game's on the SNES. clearly.... SNES needs help! and the console was made with that in mind during its conception. the SNES can do marvellous graphical effect, nice sound ( i'm not sure about that... but it's personal) , but just have not enough calcuting power. even if the SNES was a better hardware conception compare to the sega Megadrive for exemple.

I'll pick the Genesis version instead 💯🔥

The Mega Drive original is quite different to the Dreamcast port (and all the other later versions probably) mostly down to completely rewritten (much more aggressive).enemy AI / logic routines. The MD one is a lot easier. I imagine anyone annoyed about the use of a custom chip (as opposed to an SA-1 chip) in the SNES version might just be expressing displeasure at this meaning no working ROM dumps for emulators / flashcarts.

Nice video but you can not see the most important thing: The Sega Mega Drive it is the console with the sharpest picture ever (wins also against the saturn), the N64 it is the opposite..it is the console with the most blurry picture ever (even worst than ps2).

So in this video the mega drive looks blurry but it is not!! It is ultra sharp in a crt TV!
I have all the consoles and I know what I'm speaking about.

Pelo mega drive ser mais antigo que o N64, a vitória fica com o mega drive, mesmo com toda sua limitação não deixou nada a desejar. Ficou magnífico.

Never thought I’d see the day when we’d be comparing same game on the Genesis/MD vs N64 but here we are and all I can say is the Genesis/MD still does!

All that SA-1 business just sounds to me like a lot of salty SNES fans coping over the fact that their "beloved" console can't normally run those types of games well.

People are praising the Genesis version but the N64 version deserves more respect since it shows that it is capable of solid 2D graphics, something that was not very common during its actual lifespan

This game’s history is so strange. They should’ve just used the extra money from the kickstarter to actually improve the game, rather than use it to make ports on every system under the sun to slightly extend their profits. I mean seriously, why does this game need a GameCube, ps2 etc version? They prioritize stuff like that, when there are glaring flaws with the game like terrible final boss that’s a pushover even on hard, padded length where the levels drag on far too long rather than just add 1-2 more levels, expand upon the infinity mode and game mechanics etc. there are too many flaws in the game for it to be such a barebones experience. And the game is not even very hard. I beat hard on my 4th attempt, but there’s nothing else really to do. Which is fine as it echoes game design of the past, but even the scoring systems are not well designed for score chasing and will boil down to getting the right seeds that drop more NPCs to save. Replaying the campaign is a drag because it’s a 35 minute game extended to almost an hour because the levels make you just do the same rooms over and over and over become a slogfest without changing things up enough to be interesting

I read the subtitles and I don't know there was people who attack Vilo Vilela for SA1 mod ... seriously ?! Personnally, I was so happy of what he doing for us !!! I will never understand this "fans" ! The use of extra chip in Snes is part of his DNA since the begining !!!

Apologies for speaking from ignorance, but it gave me the feeling that the screens were inverted and that the game that appears as a Genesis game is actually the Nintendo 64 game, and the N64 game screen is the Sega Genesis game.?¿

SNES very superior

I feel since they are making this game for all mainline consoles from the Genesis onward, they should at least take advantage of the hardware Like they are doing the SNES. The N64 should of had polygonal characters and particle effects and so on. Not just port the Genesis game to everything. That's how the games would have been if it was made at the time.

I don't think I've ever come across any SNES fans whining about special chips being used, but it sounds very unreasonable. Nobody complained about them back in the day when they were used for games like Star Fox, Super Mario RPG, Yoshi's Island, Super Mario Kart, Mega Man X2 & X3, and Kirby Super Star. If they're needed or they improve the game significantly in some way, they should definitely be used. The fact is that the SNES was freakin' slow and couldn't do legit 3D graphics on it's own. Many great SNES games would have never existed on the console without special chips, and some games that didn't have special chips should have. For example, Lemmings should have had a special chip to improve the framerate. Go to a level with a whole bunch of lemmings, wait until they're all out, nuke them, and watch the SNES struggle like you've never seen before. Now do the same with the Genesis version and you'll notice that it struggles a whole lot less (yes, even the Genesis does struggle a little bit, but it handles the game far better.)

You missed out the Evercade on the list of ports

N64 for this one. And it’s a more modern console anyway with better controls. The SNES version beat the Genesis version in all comparison videos in graphics, gameplay, color, sound, music, with the exception of the slight widescreen etc. and the N64 is almost identical to the SNES version with a bit better graphic rendition so N64 over genesis is the obvious choice here.

No special chips needed for the Genesis version thanks to blast processing.
