The ridiculous cost of healthcare in the United States means I spent my 30s and 40s wintering in Florida but I won’t do that in my 50s and 60s.
ОтветитьHey anything to keep people out of Florida I'm all for that. I'm a true native and I'm sick of my state being destroyed by greedy Developers who come here from other states and build thousands of houses and then go back to their state. Just remember Gators eat bones and all.
ОтветитьSo sad... sounds like a living hell...looks like one too!... sounds like you gave up on life...
ОтветитьGreat job
ОтветитьEach to their own. For me, there are so many dealbreakers associated with the Villages, I can't count them all.
ОтветитьMost Floridian’s #1 main regret is the hordes of yankees clogging up the state. Unfriendly northern attitudes and terrible driving habits. The heat is our secret weapon to help keep some of them away😅
ОтветитьSnowbirds bitching about the heat, humidity, and the lack of a sophisticated cosmopolitan lifestyle in the wilds of North Florida🤣🤣🤣 You know there's a reason the land was cheap, right? If you want quiet urban sophistication, proximity to international airports and Ocean breezes buy in Palm Beach. BTW, there are portion controls because the restaurants learned long ago NE pensioners are famous for being cheap and splitting entrées.
ОтветитьGlad you are enjoying the warm winters. I moved to Tx 8 years ago and miss the beautiful snowy winters in Ohio.
ОтветитьWhen I discharged from the military, I began dating a girl. I understood her father was wealthy, but the girl was nutty. He became one of the original founders of the Villages and wanted me to marry his daughter. I said no thinking it was an honorable answer. Then I exited this relationship. I fantasize how well I would've been off, but she's still nuts, and it wouldn't have been worth it. She's on husband number 5. If I change my mind, I'll just wait until the next divorce.
ОтветитьFor those of us that live in Florida already most of these are not issues. Already used to HOAs , small lots with little space and food choices. The only real drawback I see is the traffic. Food, for a guy that loves Taco Bell is not an issue. Storage should not be bad for an older couple. We have gotten rid of tons and actually park 2 cars in our garage. We buy lots online so that isn't issue either. I have seen a few videos on Villages and only see positives so far. Will be making trip out there soon to see it.
ОтветитьI would rather live in Bangladesh than this Trump-infested right-wing cesspool.
ОтветитьGreat computer skills.
ОтветитьI'm just curious but would anyone know what the ethnic makeup of the Villages might be?
ОтветитьWhy does she keep looking at him for affirmative. what they are saying is a joke if she moved up north like we did we made lots of friends immediately. The traffic is not horrendous at all in our opinion shopping is close and easy to get to buy golf cart. We have absolutely no regrets moving to the villages, the restaurant situation the food is OK but taste is subjective so what they’re looking for may not be what I’m looking for. There are over 50,000 homes and 99% are not next to busy highways.
ОтветитьHave you met up with housekeeping spiders yet? Critters are definitely a no-go for many.
ОтветитьY’all crack me up!
ОтветитьThe reason the traffic is so bad on 301 is because of the VILLAGES…it did not use to be that way…but then why would you think all those houses being built would have anything to do with it 😳 give me a break the villages is a horrible place
ОтветитьCan't afford that. Yuck, too hot. I'm happily retiered in Ohio. Live close to the turnpike- seriously??? The cost if those places is INSANE.
ОтветитьI always heard The Villages in Florida is swingers and STDs. Lol
ОтветитьYou should put a mike on your husband.
ОтветитьI am 57, and thank you for reinforcing the idea that I would never ever want to move to The Villages.
ОтветитьI just could not see you moving to Florida, ever. It’s just too hot. Georgia, where I live, is too hot. I need to be in a cooler climate. The only reason to have property in Florida, is if you were a snowbird and you only spent the winter months down there.
ОтветитьI see nothing but couples, are there single people there? I lived in Florida for 5 yrs. and never got used to that inferno.
ОтветитьJust noooooo!
ОтветитьDrive a long way for me is one and a half hours to two plus hours to get to any store other than groceries, drugstore, hardware or Walmart.
ОтветитьShocker - alert: it's hot and humid in Florida, especially in the summer time!
ОтветитьYeah, but the politics. No thanks.
ОтветитьOcala has The Villages as well?
We live in Tidewater, VA and yesterday was 102°.😒🥵 September. Nice winters, but hot from May thru Oct. Hot where you can't enjoy outdoors unless your butt is in a pool or in the ocean. This past spring was beautiful though, in the 70s from Feb thru mid June which is unusual and haven't seen this in 20 years. One summer from Jun thru August was °104. Very unpredictable weather, but mostly hot from mid March thru Oct.
Hey! I recognize that person standing beside you as you say "friendly people"! That's good ol' Jerry of the dynamic duo Jerry and Linda! I watch their videos, too.
ОтветитьI first saw the Villages on TV during the 2016 election where they were having political rallies in their golf carts. In 2022 I saw it from the turnpike in my motor home (aka the land yacht) — and I was delighted to see the carts in real life, headed to Publix, etc. I enjoyed getting the insider view from a fellow Michigander!
ОтветитьI love the chair (I had it before seeing this video) but the straps broke immediately, get a chair with a bag not a strap.
ОтветитьWe used to come here for a vacation to visit friends that live here. Always had a blast!. I was then more or less railroaded down here and left a great career, my closest friends, and many things dear to me to move down here. I am 60 and feel out of place living in a retirement community. I’m not in the golf in most of the other amenities. Some nice people here, but also plenty of a holes. All in all it was a mistake for me to move here. It’s just not for me. And still having to work full-time does not help. My whole perception of the villages has changed because of that. What I see it’s corporate greed at its finest
ОтветитьSTD hotbed of Central FL
ОтветитьTrumpland
ОтветитьCan you do more vids with Mark please? We love him 2. 😊
ОтветитьBeen here 13 years and everyone knows to not buy anything south of SR44 and definitely not along the turnpike. Also the homes here have kitchens, so stop complaining about restaurant prices. good grief.
Ответитьnope... you can keep the villages...
ОтветитьNot enough property. I need like 10 acres minimum.
ОтветитьPrice the insurance and amenities fees, this will shock you.
ОтветитьBut they never answered if those car ornaments were swingers with a “cabbie available” indication. ✅😎
ОтветитьToooooo hot there!!!!!
ОтветитьI can smell the trash from here.
ОтветитьCongrats to your husband!!😊
ОтветитьTo me, this place sounds horrible. I Love having no neighbors.
Ответитьwho needs a hot lanai. id rather sit in my own fenced in backyard with fresh air and no bugs. I got privacy from my fencing
ОтветитьI wouldn't live there if my life depended on it. who wants to spend 45 years working and have to spend their retirement money on picture perfect grass so the idiot neighbor doesn't complain to the villages
ОтветитьOh my gosh. I just found your channel regarding fashion and travel and I just happen to live about 20 minutes from the villages part time in the winter. (I live on Lake Harris). So now I watching your villages videos. So many true comments although I will have to disagree on the Food!! We have so many native friends who take us to amazing restaurants!! I’m going to have to try both your steak House and your cupcake one. If it wasn’t so creepy, I’d like to meet you someday.🤣. Keep doing what you do. It’s fabulous.
ОтветитьThank you for your video. I think I'll stay in Colorado.
