Newport is turning into a horrible, technocratic police state. They pull people over for no reason, corrupt paid off cops work with Leno and Ellison implementing this, along with Facebook and other social media companies. Teen girls are brought into Scientology and see themselves as Kim Kardashian commodities. The world is turning evil and Newport is an example of it. When you read local articles about cops pulling people over for no reason in Middletown and Newport, it's the beginnings of the Nazi dehumanization model America uses and they plan on slowly killing off and jailing people for cheap labor as humanity is further dehumanized by the technologically infused Marxist paradigm.

Thanks for keeping the holiday season a secret for the rest of us haha. Newport really does it up nicely. Sadly thanks to global warming, it doesn't really snow and if it does, it doesn't stick around much anymore.

Newport seems like a really quaint town in New England, something I've been wanting to visit on my East Coast bucket list so I'm totally adding Newport to that. I loved learning about US History and New England has that 'old money' vibe that I have read in literature. Wonderful video to show that!!

I ate at the Newport Lobster Shack when I was in Newport 2 years ago! The lobster was pretty good there. Newport is quite a cool city. I really enjoyed the Cliff Walk during both of my visits there. I agree that the hotels are very expensive there! That's why I've usually stayed up in Massachusetts during my road trips to that part of the US!

Love the Cliffwalk in Newport. And highly recommend eating at Diegos... an amazing Mexican restaurant in Newport!

I've never visited Rhode Island but it really reminds me a lot of my home here in England!

The police in newport have a splendid reputation for doing whatever they please and letting the courts sort it out. It’s not a place I would describe as a travel destination I have no reason to lie.

Most of my family lives in Providence RI. Need to check out Newport.

We live just 40 minutes from Newport and have visited it dozens of times; as recently as last Sunday. One of our favorite spots is Brenton Point State Park. Gorgeous vistas of the ocean and THE best place to fly a kite. Awesome restaurants, too. The Red Parrot is one of the best. Last week we took the ferry from Providence for the very first time after driving to Newport the past 45 years. For seniors it’s just $12 RT; which takes 1 hour. We did see the Umbrella art installation at Brick Alley. And took photos. Very cool. Another GREAT take-in is the Audrain Auto Museum on Bellevue Avenue. It’s small, but impressive. They change their exhibitions every three months! The next one begins this Saturday, Sept. 16. Jay Leno, a huge car enthusiast, himself, has been known to drop in every so often as he purchased, a few years ago, the beautiful Seafair mansion set back on Ocean Drive. At our visit last week one of the employees did tell us Jay IS expected at their Concours event at the end of September!

Some fun fats about Newport :: 1 John and Jacqueline Kennedy got married in Newport in 1953, more than likely @ the Church shown in the video and their reception was at her step father, Hugh Auchincloss' estate 2.Marble House was built for William Kassam and Alva Vanderbilt who was one of Anderson Cooper's ancestors. Their daughter Consuelo was a so called Dollar Princess.
A Dollar Princess was a name given young wealthy American women of that era to the 1920s (think Cora Crowley, the Countess of Grantham , Elizabeth McGovern's character on ""Downton Abbey") who married English Aristocrats and in exchange, the doweries of the new Duchesses, Countesses, Viscountesses, Marchionesses and Baronesses were used to repair the family homes , the large country estates of their husbands. Winston Churchill's mother , Jennie Jerome and her sister were $$ princesses and they were also two of the many mistresses of King Charles' great great grandfather, Edward VII as was Queen Camilla's maternal great grandmother, Alice Keppel who wasn't a $$ princess. However, Princes William and Harry's great great grandmother on Diana's side (her paternal great grandmother) was a $ princess

For the history buffs among your viewers, some points of interest, in addition to the many mansions, are the Touro Synagogue National Historic Site (oldest synagogue in the USA), the Redwood Library and Athenaeum (colonial library in its original building), Newport Tower, the International Tennis Hall of Fame, Newport Museum of History, and, for food, White Horse Tavern (outstanding upscale restaurant in an historic 1673 building -- "America's Oldest Tavern").

Oh! I missed Newport.

You should really just drink Del's right out the cup. The cup is also a wax cup so you can squeeze it to break it up!

Great breakdown! We ate at Brick Alley when we were in Newport this summer. Fish sandwich and lobster mac and cheese were fantastic. One of the best meals I had all summer. They have some great drink choices too.
For a hotel we stayed at Wyndham in Middletown, which was pretty nice.

Such a great video, Chris! I have always wanted to visit this area! Maybe my mom and I will go sometime relatively soon! So much to see!

The mansions look interesting. A bygone era . The tucker (food) looks nice, can't wait to try some clam chowder. I wonder if the west coast chowder is better than the east coast. I'll find out. Thanks again Chris.

Great video. I’ll also point out that Newport is pretty dog friendly. We have lots of places with outdoor seating and most locally own coffee shops are dog friendly. Come visit and bring Fido!
