Howdy. Functional psychopath here, through my early-life instruction by my father, my score on the test is a 29. With the effects of his instruction removed, my genuine score would be a 34.

My entire world and personality and problems have to do with my dang emotions making me selfish, depressed, anxious and getting in the way of succeeding dreams, careers, and other pursuits to better myself. It would be nice to have some of that psycho focus to leave some emotions behind to be less selfish and less emotional of the world around me.
And now I can honestly say I’ve met some psychopaths that used me for their own gain and entertainment and I cried about it so much, now I can look back at the bullying and the way they did things and feel less emotional about knowing they really are physically different in emotion from me. I am hyper sensitive emotionally to everything. Sounds, smells, touch, being touched by humans, socially, and mentally over emotional. How nice it would be to have a little bit less emotions so my heart rate doesn’t spike and I don’t cry about going to a supermarket for food. Lol 😂❤ thanks Vsauce. I’ve learned a lot about and will continue to read up on the differences of human emotions and how their brain works. I’d love to kill off my emotions to actually help others and the world one day.

i have mild autism spectrum disorder so sometimes i wonder if i have traits of a psychopath i found it interesting stating how psychopaths' dont have anxiety while i have tons of anxiety i have had doctors tell me i have alot of empathy so im prob not a psychopath all the same i have some sort of mental illness

I wonder if I'm fascinated with the study of psychopaths because, as an empath, I'm so far removed from their perspective. I can't fathom their mind set, but I think embracing some of those qualities that they have can help average people become hero's in their lives.

ok..what people define as "words" is generally what most of the populace that uses it defines it as, you know how words get you to think whatever and is a tool of communication,
if most people use the term "psycopath" as a means to call someone who is mentally unstable and violent, then thats that definition,
but its not really reltaed to someone that has a severe lack of morals is it,
so the question is "should" or "shouldnt" people call people "psycopaths", for being extremely un-moral or for being extremely violent?
Generally if you have this question its easier to just call "(people who are extremely violent)" one word and "(people who are extremely un-moral)" another word.

Fictional psychopaths from things with “psycho” in the name:

Norman Bates: seems more like someone with DID than psychopathy. In his regular Norman form, he shows remorse and he has no charisma whatsoever. Not an actual psycho, unless “psycho” is short for “psychotic” instead of psychopath.

Patrick Bateman: he’s really charismatic, easily frustrated and has a flat affect. Definitely a psycho.

The narrator from “Psycho Killer” by the Talking Heads: He gets frustrated with people for talking about things he doesn’t care about and repeating themselves and presumably kills them for it. Probably a psycho?

random thought.. what if you could have the diminished sense of fear and anxiety of a psychopath, while retaining a strong sense of empathy and conscientiousness... I wonder if such a thing exists.

funny how all the occupations on the list of "occupations most likely to attract psychopaths" are all the ones that are most admired by our society.

A few interesting takeaways.. I find it interesting the amount of overlap with the symptoms and behaviours of ADHD.
I was also rather surprised that Jeffery felt remorse and guilt while Ted didn't...
That is typically what I think of as being the fundamental hallmark for psychopathy.. Honestly took me by surprise.
Lastly, it sounds like Ted had all the characteristics of oppositional defiant disorder combined with extreme narcissism...
I was rather surprised to hear he never felt any remorse, but vindictiveness is a common trait with these disorders, and if he had become vindictive against the entire world, it's not that surprising I guess. Once a narcissist with ODD feels you deserve retribution, they only feel pride in their actions.

I watched this with a friend, and said friend told me their late father was a very passionate furniture maker, and would rank tables above puppies and laughter above tables, solely because he often said that the laughter of his newborn children would be the only thing to ever bring him more fulfillment and joy than a customer thanking him and tipping him for a newly crafted table.
