You fall in love.. You advance to the next level in a video game..
You win a lottery.. You bite into your favourite high-calorie food..
You finish a tough physical exercise routine.. You achieve a long-time dream..
All these give what is called the “dopamine rush”. A chemical released in our brain, responsible for reward and pleasure.
But, guess what? Scientists have found out that “when we learn something new, in an unusual and interesting way, the same dopamine is released!”
In his book, “Talk Like TED”, Carmine Gallo says,
I like to refer to dopamine as the “Save Button” in the brain.
When, dopamine is present during an event or experience, we remember it. When it is absent, nothing seems to stick.
Hidden bonus:- Dopamine is addictive. You got some? You want some more!
