I’m a die hard Tolkien fan and Lord of the rings film fan, I’ve watched the rings of power, yes is shoddy in comparison but it’s what happens these days when it’s dictated by woke idiots who want equality for all bs genders races and retardedness I’ll watch season 2 but I’m taking it with a pinch of salt, it’s aesthetically pleasing but poor acting and depiction of the story’s

What I really don't get about people defending the choices here is if they did an adaption of a mythos set in Africa or Asia and put ANY other ethnicities in it in place of what should have been people of African or Asian descent, you guys would be having the same complaints as Tolkien fans here. But the thing is, so would the Tolkien fans enraged here. Because they're purely coming from a perspective of "follow the source material, leave out political agendas and honour the intended origin, appearence and role of the characters" where as you guys are just "white people are the worst, I'm white myself and I hate myself so you are a racist because social media and the latest societal trend says so"

The hate this show gets is pathetic. Much better than the hobbit trilogy and although it changed some elements of the books so did Peter Jackson. I cant wait for it, looks fuckin incredible.

I think this is a great show —- in fact to have any content created related to LOTR is amazing.. we should be grateful that we getting series of LOTR at all - I hope the producers will ignore these 5% negative fans and will continue to produce more series in the foreseeable future for our entertainment 🙂

I think it looks interesting, the wig is definitely a joke but I hope the show makes up for it.

My favorite part is when Legolas time travels and tells Sauron, "Let Tolkien's people go."

Well, Tolkien´s mythology certainly did have an elegiac sense of a gradual lessening of the world, of people and culture, of art and craft that can never attain the greatness of what came before, that might be the only thing ROP captures with any semblance of faithfulness.....

The whole idea of Tolkien´s life´s work is that Middle Earth is NOT our modern world with it´s modern concerns, modern values, and modern perspectives on life.
It is not MEANT to be compatible with our modern sensitivities, and there is a reason that the dawn and eventual dominion of humans in the world, along with all their flaws and imperfections, is framed as a loss of ancient greatness and dignity...

They haven´t understood a FUCKING THING about Tolkien and his work, they are Toddlers dabbling cluelessly at imitation in the shadow of a greater intellect, and the wretched, irreverent FARCE they dare to show to the world with such hubris and misplaced pride disgusts me deeply.
