For me, Josh is just the best online bass teacher. I was on the BaseBuzz course about a year ago and I enjoyed every minute of it. It was just like having a (hilarious) friend who's teaching and motivating you all the time. I attended several courses (bass and guitar) but this one was by far the best. Haven't had so much fun learning since. Wish he would start another bass or guitar course. Highly recommended. Greetings from Hamburg!
Ответитьone more time you deserve my like!
ОтветитьI've had the privilege of learning the very basics of bass from one of the best bassists of all time, Bakithi Khumalo. I became his assistant and driver, in 2019/20, and was able to get started on the bass. I'm even "rapping" on his latest album. During the pandemic, we lost touch with each other as far as consistent lessons are concerned, but we are still good friends and sometimes do video chat lessons. Josh is thee ONLY online bass teacher that follows everything BK has taught me and is a true bassist with finger discipline and technique. Plus I LOVE the music selection of all the rock classics! YES! However, the very best part of BassBuzz is Josh himself. Super fun and nerdy musician cool, not to mention very handsome (heart eyes) . I don't see a ring on his fretting hand, and so ...yeah. Thanks for this all, from the bottom of my bass.
ОтветитьThanks man. Im buying my first bass and my budget is several hundred bucks, but I don't want to make a bad choice. I have enjoyed the videos but what would your advise be for a good bass, I want to explore all types of music but I love Megadeth. LoL..
Ответить👍👍👍👍
ОтветитьNoob Josh you sound bad 😂
ОтветитьThank you so much for this! This is very cool and helpful! 🎉🎉🎉
ОтветитьHey Thank You so much for the important videos,
In the Chart Chord you demonstration quarter and half note inside the chart.
What if there is eighth notes in the song?
I have been working through the Bass to BadAss course and love it! I do have some music knowledge, but Josh really takes things to the next level! An amazing teacher, has worked hard to deliver great content, brings forward so much skill and expertise, and OMG, I laugh out loud during every single session. I am forever grateful that I came across this course! It has been a life changing experience. Thanks Josh!
ОтветитьWow this is so much fun! Thank you!!
ОтветитьThis is insanely helpful thank you so much for real dude
ОтветитьTysm omg
ОтветитьI just got my bass yesterday, and watching a few of your videos has already given me a few skills I thought it would take weeks to learn. If only finger flexibility could be taught lmao
In all seriousness though, thank you.
You could teach anything and it would be fun. You don't have as many followers as you deserve and I have a feeling I need to support you somehow so I'm gonna buy your course and hope I'll be finally able to play something :D
ОтветитьAwesome!
ОтветитьOMG this video is amazing and so informative! I just bought a bass this morning and I can’t wait to try these tricks out :) Thank you for all the info!

ОтветитьI played drums for about 5 years. Learned by ear. Had no idea about 4 foundational rhythms, I just understand it lol. Didn't know what the notes were called either..
ОтветитьWhat if you cant give your pinky love i don't have one 😮
ОтветитьThe great gig in the sky… Yes, it’s heaven ! Thanks Josh.
ОтветитьJust started Bass 2 days ago. I am 57 and decided it was time to start following my dream of playing bass after I lost a close family member.. lesson learned that life is short, so don't wait for the right time! I have a cheap 2nd hand bass, and though not perfect, it's a starting point that wouldn't have happened if I had waited to get myself a new or better quality bass.
I love your videos and teaching style; easy, relaxed, and entertaining. Thank- you for the great free instruction, very much appreciated ❤️
Just my own quick interjection on the "Day 5" portion:
Sight reading sheet music is a blessing and a curse:
Everything you need to play a piece is there, and there is so much beautiful music in sheet. But too much time relying on it can cripple you creatively.
When I was actively playing (for 18 or so years), I could sight read anything, but take away the paper, and I just couldn't get my mind around the idea of improvisation... brain went blank, and my bass (which I played for years) felt like a completely alien thing. Took me years to understand why and undo the bad habits that over reliance on sheet music can cause.
Learn to read the sheet, but don't let it become a crutch.
This video series has, and indeed this channel, reinvigorated my will and desire to pick up my axe again!
Cen you do me a favor ang make a video about scales in bass guitar

Signing up for your course now! Looking forward to your lessons to break out of the plateau I'm on :)
1st Bass comes today.( Edit: Definitely gonna buy the class. ) 58 years old never played anything before... I remember enjoying music class in elementary school but don't really remember the notations and everything but I feel I understand stuff as I listen it I'm just curious if I could comprehend and then translate it to my hands. It's one thing to understand as you watch but it's another to actually apply
ОтветитьEnjoying your channel Josh, just the right combination of humour and information for me. Loads of great videos, something to shuffle through on a rainy day and annoying the neighbours by turning it up to 11.
Keep up the good work Mr Banana tattoo 🤘🎸
