Freshwater Angelfish Care - 50 years of Experience!

Hey boss . I got a custom tsnk built for some angles . It’s 24 inches by 30 inches , and 54 inches tall . I need some water movement in such a tall tank . Fx4 running . two sponge filters on low setting . Top of the tank has a faster water flow . Middle and bottom are slower . Think that’s ok ? What’s your thoughts on that ?

I got them very small in size and once they grew up the first thing they did is form pairs and fight with each other aggressively, not sure how your tank is so clean with so many angels…😊

The daddy Angie fish left the momma and it’s fry.. causing the momma to drink and smoke they fry get contact high and that’s how they get all bent outta shape

Do you always need a filter? Or is just a sponge bubbler fine?

Hey question I have angle fish bought them small, one one them start to attack my anastistrus fish what should I do ? I have 75 gallon and he start to attack him repeatedly before it was calm , nothing change in aquarium setup and fish

i added 2 quarter sized ones to my 50 gallon planted pond yesterday, and haven't seen them since. i only have minnows and guppies in there. Could it be the aquascape? Or is that normal?

Should we worry about unhatched eggs decomposing in the tank overtime? I dont want to breed fish or raise babies. Wont the fry die out without us feeding it?

thanks I just finally found some angels at my petco everytime I find any I either cant get them that moment because im busy and not going rite home and come back there gone or dont have a tank ready for them when I see them i just got a 40 gallon with the petco 50% sale and got just 1 because they didnt have the best looking and they actually had like 7 discus thinking about getting them as well 60$ each

Would guppies be a good idea with angel fish

One key thing is these fish easily live for 4 to even 5 years. Breeding brine shrimp for food is fun too.

I need albino angels! Any grade! Sold fish for years but got out of it! out of all the fish I've bread and sold the angel fish is my favorite! Believe it or not you can train them to come up to be petted like an Oscar which they are both in the chic lid family! Any help will be appreciated!!!!

Hi I have a issue I have 100 gallon tank and I put some Angel in it two died then another two got I’ll but they were all fine do they fight off other angels for spots …?I took the out I seen the small angelfish pecking at the two bigger angels

I had an angle fish, he was doing great. Did a 50% water change. Did all the appropriate treatment to water. He died the next day. Checked water parameters, nothing wrong.
Had other fish in there also, they were fine.
A few months later, bought another angle. Month later, did a 50% water change. Same thing happened. Water parameters were fine as well as the other fish. It's very discouraging as I think the angle is a beautiful fish.

Interesting hearing "a pair in a 10 gallon and 4 adults in a community 29 gallon" With the modern internet knowledge seeming to be that any fish over 3 inches of length needs to have a 55 gallon or larger tank. I'm all for the "bigger is better" mantra but I know so many guys that have been keeping fish since the 70's and 80's and they look at me like I'm crazy when I tell them what modern tank size wisdom is, especially growing up in the 90's with my dad keeping all sorts of things in a 29 gallon in our living room. Discus, angels, gourami etc. The other one that gets me is number of fish. Generally shoaling fish are better in groups but there are plenty of fish we've kept with just 1 or two of them that lived long and happy (Kuhli loach come to mind...had a pair for 4-5 years in a community tank and they were hardly ever "hiding") So I love hearing from the old heads of fish keeping, and seeing the side of "ok that's nice but here's what we know from experience on our end"


For the record, I am PERSONALLY a BIG proponent of "bigger is better" when it comes to tank size, but I do think we've gotten a LITTLE ridiculous with some things.

I have a black vail angel wont eat about a week has two rot holes above gill i treat ed with general cure api twice two 48 hour rounds doesn't appear there's much differents in condition maybe to soon to tell ,lazy not eating , in a 10 gal by herself. Hello, My wife passed away in April. We have a dog, 2 cats and a 100 or maybe a 125 gallon tank (I am not sure) with about 20 angelfish. I don;t like fish. She did. I have been trying to get rid of them and the tank since she passed. No luck. I don't want to just throw the fish out and kill them and throw away the tank. I mean I am humane, I just don't like fish. Any ideas on what I can do?

I have 4 black lace Angelfish. Three of them have dorsal fins like Free Willy. I’m not sure if it was the fish store clerk that may have hurt them when catching them or if there’s something wrong with my tank. I didn’t notice it until about 2-3 weeks after I bought them.

they grow pretty fast I hardly noticed ive only had them for a year if that I only have three A golden coloured one A silver one and a black one they look realy great and i kept them well using these videos but use less water changes the silver fish is probably just a grayish silvery colour but i love them all equally except the golden orangey one he's too friendly and the main reason that I tend to over feed them!

I love these add infested channels hope they pay you well I've only ever used Aquarian complete nutrition flakes not sure if they're all 3 male or female but they dont bread thankfully
actually I do buy kingfisher flakes too wich are second best
