Caleb, First, Thank you sincerely for all that you given us. This resonates with me deeply as this happens not only to You Tubers but across many other careers. It is very common for this to happen and don't feel bad about it. I too, in my career (30 years) had to step away from it for 4 years and then went back a completely healthier, happier and more centered man. You have made a significant breakthrough and will be okay. Take care of yourself and loved ones. Prayers are with you and God Bless!

Totally get this! Be brave, be true, be YOU!!! I had to take a time out of my creative work for a considerable amount time for many of the same reasons. Thank you for the honesty and integrity! ❤

About 1.5 years ago I decided to stop completely and delist about 70% of my videos. It still feels like a relief. I had a lot of fun in the beginning, but it started to feel like an obligation. My life was all about “oh that’s a good video topic”. Happy for you finding your balance, especially because you were one of my role models when I started in 2017.

Props Mr. Pike. Truth be told, I haven’t been a subscriber, but have been familiar with your content. I’m actually excited to see what you produce. Especially if you stick to the 10 rules. -New Sub

Good for you to talk about the pressures of life and the feeling you have to do what people want, be yourself and be happy and enjoy your work, everyone can get stuck and hopefully relate to what you’re saying from a have to get up and go to work everyday, my alarm clock goes off at 5 am and have jobs to do before I go to my job and in the winter when it’s dark and cold outside can certain get you down, we all only live once, unless you believe in reincarnation lol so try to enjoy it, health is wealth 🥳🥳🥳

Hey Caleb, first of all thank you so much for all your video mentoring over the years it has been so helpful in starting my work. Secondly, although I have always enjoyed your authenticity in your videos, I agree with one of the other commenters, that this has been your best video yet. And why for me? Because you just seemed so much more natural and free, and beautiful, authentic, honest storytelling. I’m interested in seeing your next creations, but no pressure, whenever that happens…I stick with you, because you’re a cool, caring, honest person ✌️

Thank you for sharing. These rules are universal. One thing is to feel it; the other is to have clarity and honesty to say it out and also take action according to that in your own life. Respect!

Ik heb me zojuist geabonneerd.

Rule number 5, That's what I want to get back to on my channel, making videos that I enjoy, not what I think my audience will enjoy and that's the way it should be to keep it fun and enjoyable.
Thanks for making this video.

Thanks so much for your candour, Caleb. Clearly your intuition has given you insight and you’re right to act authentically. In a way it’s a Citizen Kane moment and you’ve found your Rose Bud.
I’m so excited to see where this goes for you and for us.
Great job 👍👍👍

Right on, great attitude shift. If you’re not enjoying your life, then what’s the point. Break free from the grip of self-imposed, toxic perspectives and make the tools serve your needs, not the other way aren’t.

Your art will evolve as you do. I can’t wait to see what you do next, but you already look happier and less stressed.

Caleb, your journey is a metaphor for age in general. Life looks different in the rear-view mirror. In your 20s you're spunky and full of vinegar, you go balls to the wall for success, you're learning the game. In your 30s you get good at it, still chasing volume; "learning the algorithm" but starting to prioritise quality. In your 40s you've got most things on auto, but start to feel unfulfilled, wondering where all this hustle has got you. In your 50s you look back and wish you'd done some things differently, but those things got you where you are, so guilt creeps in.

Age grows you as a person. It's OK to hate the soul-less machine that made you successful, because the machine got more out of you than you ever got from it. I look forward to seeing what you do next.

I find this extremely interesting. Watching your videos over the years has kept me from pursuing my dreams. I collected lots of equipment, study workflows to exhaustion, and decided it was not something I inspired to do. After listening this to this short it confirms why I initially wanted to do this in the first place. To create…. So thank you for making the most important “storytelling” video I’ve ever seen you make. Storytelling is where the excitement lives 👍🏼.

Caleb, I've been following you for probably 10+ years. I started watching you because I wanted to learn how to master a camera. Always loved your content and your progress.

I had another similar epiphany, today. It comes to not trying too hard to be the richest man in the Cemetery. Get just what you need to stay afloat, and hire yourself to do the things you love doing.

I'm a maker myself. And I know that videoing the making part slows it down. But you know what? If you're redoing that set, video yourself doing it, don't masterfully color correct it, just upload it and send us a link to your new channel! Cut the video in 30sec, use comic sans, and put a link on your masterfully edited videos once they eventually mature. You don't need to prove anything to anyone :)
