The LS50s are great speakers I have many customers using them with the Starkrimson monoblock amps that seem to pair very well with them.

Thanks, you swayed me. I have been humming and harring for weeks. Looked at everything and watched every review of many many speakers. I was about to change my entire set up but went for the LS50 Meta to run on my existing Yamaha RN 803d. Installed them, amp on pure direct, WOW! Wow out of the box! I was running a pair of Q Acoustic Concept 20's and a sub. I thought they were amazing but I was ready to try something more up market. Yep the investment was worth it. My reference CD's by George Michael and Mariah Carey because the production on them is huge, had me in tears on some tracks. Highs, lows, instruments, all perfect. Things I am sure I have never heard before. Piano on some tracks sounded amazing and George on his live tracks was literally in the room with me. Perfect imaging and stage. Thanks for the great review and until I hear a better amp I will stick with what I have. Please review the new Yamaha 1000a as I love Yamaha and want to hear if the upgrade is worth it.

Your sound room, (I'm assuming that is your sound room I'm looking at) looks like it would be VERY reflective and noisy. Do you use any room treatments? Thanks for all the FANTASTIC videos.

I have been a Kef Ls50 owner since 2017; the KEF is a relatively benign load still but still has its limits (either a very complex piece of music or playing at very high or very low volume levels). Even the LS50 can cause the combination of amplifier and loudspeaker to sound shrill. That said, I'm looking to upgrade my current Marantz PM8005 amplifier.

My source components are Cambridge CXN V2 and a Rega Dac. I plan to get an excellent in-built dac inside my amplifier and discontinue the Rega. So ideally, I need an amplifier with balanced outputs and would be looking at an amplifier with a minimum of 100w into 8 ohms.

Can you recommend some models worth looking at, for around £2000 - £3000, that will drive KEF Ls50s at higher and lower volumes?

As always, your reviews are excellent. Keep up the splendid work, Andrew.

Hi Andrew and Kristi. I've been going through hours of reviews looking for candidates to replace my ageing Monitor Audio Silver RS8s, which by necessity, are tucked into the corners of my smallish listening room in Spain. Either my ears are going to pot or the Monitors sound really....mushy and I'm sure I'm not getting the mid-top end either. I know room placement has a lot to do with it but there's bugger all I can do about that. So....smaller bookshelf speakers would obviously be better. Do you think my new Audiolab 6000 would be a good match for the LS50 Meta's or would the MA 100 Silvers be better in your opinion? I watch movies and listen to cd/FLAC files (rock/Prog/Classical) via an equally ageing but lovely Cambridge Audio 752BD. I cannot find a dealer anywhere near me to audition and none of them offer home demo's! Spain, huh? Anyway, thanks in advance and best wishes to you both.

Hi Andrew, thanks for information! In your opinion, what speaker do you like most? The Lintons or LS50 Meta. I know, Wharfedale have 3 driver and is bigger than the Kef, but the cost are very similar.

Hi Andrew, would having these speakers connected to a denon avr 4400 plus emotiva basx a5 get the best out of them and also pairing them up with a kef r6 meta centre speaker be advised?

Hi Andrew! Thanks for your review.
My gest room has more windows than wall on the side where speakers should be. Also, they suppose to stay exatly on the path between kitchen and the garden - not really safe place. Also I have two sofas, one verey close to the speakers (speakers are behind you when sit there) and the other is ~2..2,m from the speakers (you sit in fron of them). It is a little uncomfortable to listen to the music and chat with guests sitting close to speakers.
Would it make sense (from audible experience) to hang the speakers up to the ceiling (2,7 meter room height)? Will it still have stereo scene?
At the moment I have thin but high floor-stand speakers and thinking to switch to these KEFs + SUB eventually.

Andrew and/or Kristi, you've had glowing reviews of these and the Polk R700's. In your opinion(s), would you have these with a sub or save a little bit of money and go with R700's with no sub? Would be pairing with an Emotiva A2 stereo amp hooked up to my Marantz

How did I miss this the part about the Musical Fidelity 5 match with these. Honestly I felt like an idiot, until I remember I got a phone call at about that point when viewing this vid the first time.

So I bought the Musical Fidelity 5 based mostly on your review and happier I could not be. So what the hell I am getting the LS50 to go with it also based on your review.

The only question that remains is “what subwoofer?”

The final question that explains the whole Universe “which subwoofer?”

Of wait it’s also about the DAC, about the DAC, no analog.

What is the difference between Klipsch 8000F and KEF LS50 Meta with sub (at their best position/orientation)? Detail, imaging, sound stage, timbre, non-fatigue listening? I wonder if I should upgrade my Klipsch with the LS50 Meta, I find this Klipsch slightly aggressive.

‘Can they not just look it up on line? Or, can you not throw it on the specs’?

Can I respectfully point out, that a significant number of audiophiles and likewise your followers are severely visually impaired. Looking it up on line, or from the specs in the show notes, can be, difficult and time consuming. Help them out by including any useful data in your vocal narrative. Thank you.

Andrew due to your review of the Tecnics su g700 mk 2 I am very interested in it but I was wondering if your think the g700 would be able to properly drive the metas. You and Kristi mentioned in the g700 review how well it paired with the q acoustics concept 50. These will be going in my bedroom system in a 12x13x8 room. If you have time what are your thoughts on the concept 30 vs the meta to pair with the g700. Thanks for your time. Love your channel.

You mentioned the Metas are bit power hungry.
How do you think they’d sound with the new powernode I have?
Enough power or do you think I should look at something a little more efficient?
Thanks as alway.

LS 50 META (€1300) - LS 50 original(€ 600) Is it worth te upgrade ? for me not. My hifi- LS50 original, Marantz CD player 6004 (usb), amp cambridge CXA61, Speakercable Rocket 11 audioquest, sub SVS SB1000Pro and it's heaven . The difference in sound is so smal between those speakers that only the real fanatic listener hear the difference.Wasn't that disc a sales trick? Check it out here. "Sound battle KEF LS50 VS LS50 original Sound comparison" Worth the upgrade (and the money?) For me in this this test the original sounds is more open and i like that, but not everyone of course, also the looks with the Meta's in different nice colours is toppy.........but the difference in sound and all that money ???

I bought some KEF Q150s and lacked treble in my room. Should have got the LS 50 Metas. But I got some B&W 706s and they don't impress me cos they are not point source but they do have enough treble on the top but voice is a but muffly, not enough throaty voice sound. Voice lacks texture but cymbals are loud. There seems to be a gap there.

Point source really helps. If normal 2-ways have a good image it's cos of the frequency response, not cos they are point source. But a point source speaker with the same magic curve would flog the normal 2-way hands down.

The best bookshelf speaker I have ever heard is the LS3/5A with external crossover and paired with the AB1 subwoofer. i have compared it with the LS50 non-meta and the LS50 don't even come close. It is like night and day.. The imaging of this LS3/5a set up is to die for. I have not heard the LS50 meta but the LS50 meta is derived from the LS50 non-meta, inheriting many of the basic design, I would dare say that the LS50 meta is no where in the same league as the LS3/5A.
