Second one was probably a prank. For the first one, I'd freeze up too. What do you say to someone asking "do you live around here" when you're in your own front yard at night?? Kid should've just screamed "DAD!" but I don't blame him for just going "Uh..."

Something I find really frustrating. Say some of these would be robbers had the cops called on them and are arrested. What happens? They pehraps go to jail for a bit? At some point they get out. They're angry. Even though they in the wrong, they, as entitled as they most likely feel, will think they were the ones wronged. They know where the one who called the cops live, and come back for the revenge they feel they deserve. So the lucky person they wanted to rob or worse gets to just be absolutely 100% on their toes all the time? Be armed (something not everyone is comfortable with)? Move? All they did was protect themselves from robbery and now they're also possibly marked for some sort of revenge. F-ed up.

Do not go cheap with some kind of home security for your house. Get the best quality of protection for your house and get a weapon of some kind. Thank God nothing happens but if someone does try anything, you will be ready
