This oeuvre had some great women within it... beginning with the GREAT Claudia MacNeil and Ruby Dee!! There are brilliant moments within it... thank you for the memory - THE VERY FOND MEMORY... arthur b (Ngai)
ОтветитьThe mother asked her what she was going to do with herself, when she should’ve been asking her other two daughters, who refuse to do anything with their lives.
ОтветитьThat grandmother is a hero. She checked her grown daughter for trying to hold her own young daughter back. She wanted the best for her.
ОтветитьI believe Michael Jackson was inspired by this movie a little. He was honest about growing up with toxic parents and toxic siblings. He said they used to tease his good looks and his father used to beat on him, whilst his mother never stopped the beatings. He also never had a child hood because he had to work since a child, but when he became a huge star, he left home and built never land.
ОтветитьThe way those jealous sisters and that girls mother kept yelling at her and blaming her for everything was disgusting. No wonder she left and never looked back.
ОтветитьI love when she left her toxic family alone and chased her dreams. There is hope out there.
ОтветитьI wonder if Michael Jackson got the name Billie Jean from seeing this movie.
ОтветитьThis is something I've seen in other families. Makes me happy for mine.
ОтветитьYears later, this movie finally made sense to me..
ОтветитьHer daughters are lazy and a product of there environment the dad is a creep and he the reason why his daughters dont know a proper male example
ОтветитьI have never felt as seen and as heard as I hae watching this movie. Where was this? Why am I crying?
ОтветитьBlack women sure like to struggle in life, just learn how to be feminine and serve a man!! This life with a house full of women aint about nothing.

ОтветитьI love this movies, i was born in 1969, and i remember all those good golden days.
ОтветитьLo
ОтветитьThis was a good motivational movie!
ОтветитьThe interaction between the mother and father felt fast, 2 grown people revisiting a place they used to visit, and talking about their past while talking about their present. I like this movie, it feels so character-driven and that’s what I like with movies.
ОтветитьThe mother & 2 older sisters had white man self hate syndrome. Thank the Lord Netta came into this family life.
ОтветитьSexual objectification is what's horridly normalized of the black woman for millennia and hasn't abated....Ozzie Davis is just the panderer of it. 💀

ОтветитьFrom my experience black women deserve all the negative criticism they get. What's good about them?
ОтветитьThose sisters were so disgusting 😡
ОтветитьWhen the black culture was positive in television films and sports music and politics my generation 🙏🏿
ОтветитьI love how confident she was, getting up there and not being provocative but done in good taste😊
ОтветитьBeautiful and artistic, love the 💃
ОтветитьI love the 1970 movies . It makes me think about the goods . If you seeing this just know you made thankful at 49 born in 1974 my granny died at 44 in 1980 . This was the times when people had love and respect for one another . Loyalty was really shown . Family was family and you had real friends
ОтветитьPoor Billie, just trying to dance the pain away & her family won’t even allow her that. Discouraging her dreams in every way & they wonder why she dropped out of school… to think she got that job to buy something for her sour face mother. There’s a Billie in every family & I can’t wait to change my name..
ОтветитьThe momma and sisters wasnt ish!!!!
