Your videos have been hands down the most instructive I’ve seen, thank you very much!
ОтветитьOkay got it.
ОтветитьHow would this apply to metal miniatures??
ОтветитьYou mentioned leaving the brush pointing upwards can affect the tip! How ?
Ответитьincreible tutorial. thank you, i learnt quite a bit
ОтветитьWhat a fantastic and indepth video, a very valuable tool for someone like me starting out. Thank you
ОтветитьVery useful thanks. I didn't know about storing brushes horizontally. They are all sitting upright in a pot...😮 (rushes upstairs to lay them down....)
ОтветитьI’m looking for that link you said you would post for the type of brushes you use and I’m not seeing it so I apologize are you able to provide it?
I think your videos are fantastic you’re very informative and you don’t talk too fast which is helpful so you don’t have to constantly have to rewind. These are great videos, and well appreciated.
Also, the Cleaning part of this video only showed a regular brush I’m still not fully clear on cleaning my dry brushes properly.
And if you don’t already have a video for it, can you help with directing and explaining the best way to do a face on a miniature?
Particularly the eyes, I seem to struggle with this every time
Just started the video but can you please a series on other paint brushes and techniques to use them. Your tutorial are awesome man thank you. And happy Halloween!!!! Should of finished the video before commenting
ОтветитьI would really like a video where you show your painting setup and perhaps share your thoughts, why you seem to be landed at citadel. That you use the brushes that are dedicated to you is clear, but I would really like to hear your opinion on paints, accessories and sources of models you prefer. Perhaps you have even some models to show, that you don't painted in a video-tutorial? And thanks for the great guides, I just watched your whole series and the amount of detail, the great presentation and clear explanation is really good. Thank you!
ОтветитьWould you be able to do video on the scale75 paints prep for airbrushing?
ОтветитьThanks a lot for this extremely useful video!
ОтветитьGreat video as always. Do you clean synthetic brushes the same way?
ОтветитьHow to basics video
Didnt throw 37 eggs and two whole cabbages onto his pallet
Sad
i have learnt from this man the back of the glove is also a tool.
ОтветитьThis is the single best video I have ever seen on this topic.... the perfect video to send to anyone trying to learn or improve!
Brilliant
Is bush soap advisable for synthetic brushes?? Should you put the caps back on bushes whilst theyre wet?
ОтветитьI really appreciate the HOW TO series. Thank you.
ОтветитьLove this straight up to the point, incredibly informative, chill content. One thing I struggle with when it comes to keeping my brushes clean is mixing colors. I'm constantly adding white or black to get the desired colors. But when I mix using the intended brush, there's always a build up and I need to quickly clean the brush off. I feel that its 1. wasting paint and 2. I see the paint near the ferrule (which I know is a "no-no") and it's difficult to avoid. Do you have any suggestions or best practices when mixing colors with a brush. I just don't want to have to use a designated mixing brush. Is there hope? Thank you for all your awesome help!
ОтветитьHiya, super helpful! Which size opus brush is this? Was looking at getting a size 3 as an all rounder as a beginner! Thanks
ОтветитьLike many others here, after returning to the hobby from many years away and now with my son, your video’s are superb. After stumbling across your Raven guard how to video I have well and truly become hooked again.
Your techniques and advice are amazing and really help you understand how to paint properly something that was never around for many of us before-Thankyou👍🏼
Wow, another extremely helpful video.. Thank you so much for all of your tutorials!
ОтветитьThis video just saved 3 of my brushes, brush soap is amazing 0.0
ОтветитьWow, thank you very much for this tutorial.
ОтветитьYour tutorials are so good!! Thank you!!
I am just starting out and trying to paint Stormcast Eternals, could you do a video of a bog standard eternal!? It would help so much
I have such a hard time keeping paint out of the ferrule. Using symthetic brushes but the pigment seems to soak up into the ferrule with the water even if I'm only using the tip half to make contact with the paint.
ОтветитьWait so does brush soap work on synthetics or no?
ОтветитьBeen painting now 4 years and I’ve never even thought about this 😅
Everyday is a school day.
Really great videos. Been back in the hobby since mid 2020 (thank you Mr. Covid) but only just decided to properly focus on really improving my painting.
Been using a wet palette for about a year now and 2 weeks ago started to "upgrade" my brushes from Citadel to Artis Opus.
Although comfortable with wet-blending, glazing etc., I've been watching lots of "basics" painting videos, as I reckon the best way to tackle advanced techniques at an advanced level is to fully understand the basics. I must commend your tuition as although I'm already doing these things, it's very interesting to understand WHY I'm doing them.
My biggest problem / challenge in painting comes in terms of generating enough contrast. To be fair my NMM is pretty poor but I've only done 2 models with this technique so confident it'll improve. If you have tips or intended videos on these things, 'twould be very helpful.
Anyway, monologue over. Thank you and bravo!
Great video as always!
ОтветитьThank you for a great guide!
ОтветитьVery instructive ! Thanks 👍
ОтветитьJust wow... By far, the best tutorial I found about painting with brushes my minis! I'm new at the hobby, and yet with this video, I learned almost everything about the brushes Tysm TYSM! ❣️
Ответитьthese videos are the best painting guide I have ever watched. thank you, you have really helped me start back at model painting.
ОтветитьHow do you feel about Dawn dish soap for cleaning? My mom is a master painter of 30+ years, actually knows Jo Sonja personally, and swears by it. Same technique as yours, just with Dawn. Thoughts?
ОтветитьYour content is an absolute treasure trove of hobby knowledge!!
Could you please cover the tools you personally use next, - clippers/cutters, knife, drill, sanding sticks/files etc!!
🤞👍
Natural brushes rule.Synthetic brushes Will hook after even a little use even if you care for them as if they were natural hair . And natural brushes will last weeks to months in oils or enamels as long as you don’t smash them when cleaning. And I use a hair conditioner after every use in that environment.
Ответитьyou can put brush into almost boiling alcohol and then to boild water. it will make "dead" brush alive.
ОтветитьThis is one of the best basic paintbrush tutorials I’ve yet to see. Well done!
ОтветитьI am just getting into hobby. Thank you for this. Everyone else is to fast pace for me.
ОтветитьAppreciate this video. Destroyed my nice brushes and told myself no more nice brushes until I start properly caring for my cheap ones
ОтветитьSomething ive never heard anyone say about Winsor and Newton series 7 brushes, is they have a guide hair. At least in my experience. The guide hair tends to have paint dry faster, which makes it more annoying to paint with. For my brush i ended up veeerrrrly carefully taking a hobby knife to the guide hair and dealing with it.
Never had this experience with da vinci maestro or raphiel 5404
Insanely great video! Calm and SUPER Helpful! Subscribed!
ОтветитьLove your videos
Any chance you are planning to make one on glazing?
Great vid'. Excellent intro to brushes and their care. It is worth mentioning to not use hot water when cleaning. I was told this tip years ago by someone who worked in the industry. Apparently a gum is used on the ferrule end of the bristles to hold them together. Hot water can soften this and in the end cause the brush to lose its shape and its ability to forma sharp tip.
ОтветитьA point on the brush soap, once lathered up and in the bristles you can also leave the soap in it and reshape the bristles, let the soap harden and this sort of retrains bristles back into shape and all you need is water to get soap out and there you have a reshaped brush.
ОтветитьSuch a clear, well-made video. Thanks for posting, and congratulations.
ОтветитьSinister black gloves - the best kind.
ОтветитьExcellent info! Subscribed!
ОтветитьWatched a lot of your videos! Incredible value. Would you ever make one of glazing?
