The Search for the Best Build in Elden Ring

It must be a pure STR clossal weapon or STR + INT RUNE Great sword

I personally love dex builds and two handing scimitars! It just feels so good to fight a boss without some strong effect like bleed or frost. I remember trying to find a good dex build but I’d only find some boring bleed/frost build so here I am with my fun little scimitars

Mine is rivers of blood 10+ and malenias hand 10+

Recently returned to ER with a new character and a new build and am having a lot of fun and dealing a lot more damage 🥳

Up till now I've been a strength/faith boy with that blasphemous blade bs. It's so strong I 4 shot Melania the first time I beat her ( 4 deaths only ) but it's just gotten so fkn boring and now I'm here

My build for now (first) is a quality build based off Bloodhound knights (extra dex). With some cool early magics.

I used the dragon scale blade and ROB for the frost fire effect with katanas (cuz I love katanas)

my personal favorite build was the Ravenmount build, which consisted of Bandit Greaves/gauntlets, skeletal mask, raptors black feathers, raptors claws and I added my own twist by putting Bloodhounds fang in it, my raptors claws had raptor of the mist and it was incredibly fun, since I was used to far range or medium range, such as spells or spears, and getting close was completely new to me, and I also use fan daggers just to have some range and spare damage, it was a dex build and the first build I actually completed the game with, since I normally got stuck with radahn, but defeated him first try with this build. I enjoyed the Morgott fight the most since it shown me how far I have came from being some person who stayed back, summoned and casted some pebbles to actually dealing incredible damage and having the most badass kills doing so, talismans I used we're claw talisman, winged sword insignia, millicents' prosthesis and erdtrees' favor, and I never used a great rune and likely never will due to the fact that I would get used to it, doing a Ravenmount Assassin run really was the best experience I had for Elden Ring, and always will have a special place in my mind for it helped me understand the true beauty of Elden Ring.

I was thinking about doing retribution paladin, but I was a bit scared because of the amount of bosses that have a massive holy resistance

I right now play dual wield blade samurai with blood

I think the black flame incantation you can apply to your weapons doesn't last long at all & I wished fire would continue to burn for a bit and do damage for bit like poison or a similar effect. I started off as a bandit and once I saw the cool weapons & spells I was trying to upgrade everything to use them and upgrade endurance just so I can carry better armor & shields. I have upgraded the short bow I started off with to about level 23. I saw something about the black bow so tried to get it & finally did & I accidentally sold it to the blacksmith at the roundtable hold thinking I was on the upgrade section. I was thinking about doing an archer build but wanted to do it with that bow so am going to have to hold off to ng+ . I'm still on my first playthrough I wasn't sure of a reliable way to keep arrows even though I got the bellbearing from the hunter at the warmaster shack I still get stuck on trying to get bones from the sheep but atleast I know where to get most materials to make different types of arrows. I think they should make it where aeonia butterflies respawn . They don't have to have so many wgere your too op but atleast have some you can get after you've already collected the ones in the swamp in Caelid. If I do an archer build I don't think I'm going to limit myself to just bows like I have seen people do in videos showing how to do an archer build after all I have wasted so many arrows on enemies that block or they dodge them . I use guard counter it's a good way to stun enemies and get a critical hit.

What body buff that buff damage do we have? Flame grant me strength covers flame and physical. Howl of shabriri increases dmg taken a bit too much, also high faith required. Nothing covers magic, holy or lighting right?

this is the stuff i hate about elden ring the fact u have to do exact calculations and work out how items work together in your head to get a unique build that actually works is so stupid

Ooga Booga Jump Attacks Double Heavy Bonk Full Strength is the most OP shit you can play. There you go.

I just take the heaviest greatsword I find and the coolest armor (godfrey's), and for talismans, anything that increases stamina and equip load and that's it

About the erdtree greatshield build can't you just use fire's deadly sin ?

For the spiral build if you only want the Marais Executioner Sword for the spiral attack why not use the Regalia of Eochaid and save a bunch of strength and arcane levels to level mind or int more

My builds are lore themed, so like a golden order caster with only non-heretical glintstone spells, or a barbaric dragon communion Aspect of Crucible user. And also doing my quest lines accordingly to how I feel they should act. Sadly there is too many factions/ spell groups for me to do one for all because the max is 10 :(

The setup I'm going with right now is something like a spell battle champion of the north.

I'm rocking these pieces:
Kaiden helm
Beast champion with cape
Beast champion gauntlet
Bullgoat greaves
Carian shield/lusat stff
Zweihander

I started as an astrologer so for my personal lore, it makes sense for my character's origin to me in the north. I have carian retaliation on the shield and I use carian and haima spells. Finished with Ranni ending and never touch frenzy flame. Giant hunt aow on the zweihander. Loads of fun!!!

Back when I still played Destiny 2, I spent hours build crafting or searching for new ways to synergize weapons, armor, mods, fragments and aspects together. Elden Ring has taken that desire to make your character the best they can be, and multiplied it many times over.

Something about making a build that melts bosses, chews through normal enemies or is just straight up fun, is so damn satisfying in this game. Maybe it's how the weapons feel, or how the magic looks, but Elden Ring will always be a peak build crafting/fashion show game.

Just started a new play-through to work my way up to the Spiral Mage. I’ve been looking for a fun Spellblade build and this one looks so cool.

Thinking of starting as a poor-man’s Spiral Mage early game w/ Regalia of Eochiad and work my way up to Marias Executioner with the Regal Scepter.

Love these builds. Especially the Spiral Mage. I did a similar thing with Regalia of Eochaid because it was less start hungry and I cap at 125. Question. How do you get the pretty braid on the Paladin?

My build is to give enemies poison or scarlet rot.

I know everyone will cringe but my build is ultra greatsword with any ash of war I'm feeling, usually quickstep because I'm so slow. I've only put points into strength, dex, vigor, and endurance. no phisic, no summons, no consumables minus estus, and no spells. I'm SL 108 and I'm fighting malaketh rn.

How are you using the abilities of both a shield and weapon? It seems to turn off my weapon when I try and I can only use normal attacks.

DO MORE BUILD VIDEOS! These are amazing. Easily the most unique and interesting builds I've seen. Everyone wants to do whats OP, but I always like to play and see the unique and fun builds.

this is such a cool video and with the variety in elden ring really should be a series.

My favorite melee weapon for a spellsword build is Wing of Astel. It scales greatly with intelligence, has a ranged attack by default, and it also has a poise destroying AOE attack as its special. One of the best close/medium range combat weapons for sorcerers.

My guy runs about with two of the great swords had to ng+ to get both ❤
