Urabrask should have dominated the New Phyrexia this red devil the weakest of the praetors kept coming back to Elesh Norn and get his ass kick, but that doesn't stop him. I would like him if he takeover New Phyrexia because that mental monsters has no interest in conquering the multiverse, and he was not interested in completing an angel in a special ritual. He wants the Mirrans and the multiverse to be complete by choice. Still he is a praetor and he is red he can change his mind and backstab the Mirrans. Well, for the most part I think if he took over New Phyrexia the Multiverse will finally at ease since New Phyrexia will not invade them ever again and Urabrask can be left alone. I think Urabrask's New Phyerixa would have been enlighten to see what is vision of perfection truly, is keeping your free will and having a powerful mental body sounds cool. I would join the red faction because I like keeping my freedom and I would tell Urabrask give me time to think on it.

Old Phyrexia is best Phyrexia. I built a whole theme deck based around it

The mother of machines desperately wanted to be Yawgmoth

My theory is that what evolved from the glistening oil is a code. The praetors are mimicking the Phyrexian religion using whatever means that are at their disposal to copy the will of Yawgmoth, but in truth they are a shadow. Yawgmoth was using magic and nano technology to divine the nature of strength. That is what the oil constitutes. It exists to shed the weaknesses of the living and compleat it in his vision of a "perfect" being. Unless Yawgmoth exists or has programed a part of himself into the oil these "New Phyrexians" should have a base consciousness or perhaps no one at wizards of the coast can come up with a better idea for an antagonist then Phyrexia (no surprise). In either case New Phyrexia is a much diminished version of the nine hells that doesn't make a lot of sense in my book. Does anyone know who came up with the idea of Phyrexia?

Also of note: Old Phyrexia was made by some unknown planeswalker, Yawgmoth simply took residence there and twisted it to his will. New Phyrexia is made purely from Phyrexian oil, when Yawgmoth arrived on the scene, the oil was practically the only thing in Phyrexia. So New Phyrexia is more "pure" in that sense, they aren't a tool of Yawgmoth and really shouldn't even know about him. There's a reason the art of Phyrexians uses the Phi symbol a lot but Yawmoths ichor crying logo is nowhere to be seen

Stupid theory no one will care for: Vorinclex has teamed up with Urabrask and ol' Yawgmoth to reinstate him as the leader to combat Elesh Norn, she cannot be stopped without Karn.

Edit: Vorinclex stole that Tyrite stuff from Kaldheim, makes things into gods.

We really need Torment 2.0 - Persecution. White magic that acts like Black magic, at least blue too.

Praetors at Yawgmoth's lawn, defacing fences and shit, calling him a boomer.

In even simpler terms Old Phyrexia is an analogy for Hell (it even has multiple circles) and New Phyrexia is closer to a corrupted Garden of Eden.

So old Phyrexia was all eggs in the one monstrously powerfull basket compare to the several heavy hitters of New Phyrexia. I can see the advantage of both. One heavy strike is capable to breach sturdy strongholds where several normal hits does not do enough and it is better to divide and conquer opponents that cannot be brought down with swarms of lesser scourges. However existence of such nemesis beckons challenge for itself , gathering opposition based on common interest, forming a coalition if you will. In such alliances its members could pool their power, ingenuity and their legacy will eventually bring an end to the otherwise unstoppable apocalypse. They are simply more than sum of their abilities. Consequently such team could be dismantled by several different attack vectors from new Phyrexia style bosses they could not envisioned beforehead. Praetors are still each powerful enough to stand its own in the thickest of fighting tempests while executing its own devastating plan either exhausting enemies or if opportunity poses itself even obliterating them compleately by still being head and toe above every single newwalker, who is not Kaya. Whatever remains would be weakened and forced to watch out for every angle, of potential onslaught, because those manifestations of every colour are trying to pull every trick in the hat from alpha to zeta on them (exept from red, red is somehow a friend).

I think that the Phyrexianized Tamiyo may be in a way part of Yawgmoth's original plan. In the Thran story during the final battle, Yawgmoth immobilized Daiphed to unlock the secret of the planeswalker spark. And now thanks to the help of a planeswalker (ironically phyrexia was founded in part by a planeswalker) New Phyrexia has a planeswalker and has the potential to conqueror the whole of the multiverse. Call me crazy, but I think that a part of Yawgmoth's original consciousness may be driving the Preators to some extent.
