Learning From the Habits of Skinny People

In this video, I talk about the things that I've learned from observing 'Naturally Skinny' people's eating habits and their lifestyles. How do they stay so thin and never gain weight? How do they eat junk food like I do but stay so small? The truth is, anyone will put on weight if they overeat on a daily basis. Watch this video to find out what habits you can learn from skinny people.

You have to condition yourself to eat smaller portions of food and eat less frequently. 🙂

Lol I am quite skinny as a man, 178cm 63kg. My breakfast? Exactly 240 calories of total nutrients replacement drink. Eating is too time consuming😂

I have to disagree in some aspects! I think people can be very skinny and still being huge foodies. I think is more about what they are eating. At least as a mediterranean, I was super super skinny all my life (I’m still slim but not that skinny) and I loooooooooove food and cooking. But I’m not obsessed about eating burgers, I’m obsessed with healthy filling recipes that taste amazing. (I know a lot of mediterraneans like me) For a very long time I could eat ANYTHING I crave and not gain weight because of the quality of my meals, even if they were high in calories (for example in my culture we use lots of healthy fats in the kitchen, like olive oil).
I’m married to an American man, I’ve been to America and meet a lot of people from there and ate their food. It is true that the size portions of the things are intense, but I have also noticed the lack of nutricional quality that a lot of american recipes and products have (I know I’m generalising).
They make a salad and they add a sugary dressing, they have bread and pasta that is super low quality. I can’t count how many “gluten intolerant” Americans arrive to Europe and can eat gluten here with not problem.
Is a pity that their diet and products are extending around the world and more and more people are having at unhealthy diet.

my habbits that keep me skinny without thinking about it: having enough sleep, commuting by bike and on foot everywhere, not overeating, but mindful eating and enjoying my food, seldomly snack between meals (helps to keep my teeth healthy aswell; what I mean is that when I'm hungry I eat a meal and don't merely snack a little), I generally eat whole foods. I mostly eat 2 meals a day (true meals, not a skimpy 300-400 calories, but the 800-1000 I really need to get to my needed daily amount of energy... but I don't calorie count them, I generally just know or rather my body lets me know, when I've eaten not enough, I'll get hungry faster or I'll get cravings for more calorie dense foods the next meal) and seldomly eat after 4 o'clock, it depends on if I get hungry again, It's not set in stone. And at late night social events with eating, I just eat with them, and my body automatically seems to adjust for it the days after, as I notice I'm full faster then normally. Full for me indeed means, just enough, it's like the 80% rule from japan; I don't mean untill my stomach feels full, but untill my hunger and true appetite has gone. If there is still a craving I just reserve that for the next time I'm hungry so I already have something to look forward to.
There are more habbits and little things that build up, but those are the most important I think.
This all sounds very calculated, but it's actually unconscious, I wasn't conscious of them before I first started to pay attention to them and that only was when some bad habbits had crept in due to stress.
The only conscious thing I do about my eating habbits, is reguraly (once in a month or 2 months) assessing my habbits or changes that crept in. (identifying them and thinking about if they are a bad or a good change and how they've happened) Sometimes (definitely during stressfull periods) less healthy habbits can creep in. And it's easier to change them back when they haven't been there for too long. (eating something as chocolate or having a sweetened milk tea isn't bad, but when I notice these kinds of 'nutritionally quite empty foods' becomming more common or rather a habbit instead of something extra now and then, I might have to consciencely cut them back again)
I do this choice for my health, not to stay skinny. Being skinny is just something that happens besides being more healthy. And I mean general health, my body, mind, feelings,... Food and your relationship with food is a very important part for your whole wellbeing. So focus on health and not on the scale ;) . And take it one habbit at a time. (I vote for sleep being the first if that's not ok yet, it can be life changing to have a good nights rest every night)

all you said here is true. Skinny people have a small appetite they don't eat much

So much to unlearn. I am eating and satisfied already but I feel the waste food thing is bad. If I served it, I shall eat it. I'll obviously enjoy it. Also, I don't exaggerate a plate of food. Also, I snack on what I'm preparing so I'll do that, then serve the meal. It's like double dipping and adds unnecessary calories. This is interesting.

Just be yourself. There’s no need to mimic someone else, regardless of what you weigh.
Love who you are and find healthy ways that you already do and just do the healthy things more.

Its funny because you made me realize that i did all those things when i was younger ( and skinnier ) i litteraly could never finish my plate i always gave the excess to my mum or would leave it, i also was a picky eater ( so i think this contributed aswell )

This is so helpful. I’ve dealt with anorexia and binge eating disorders in the past and I’ve never had that sense of balance. You definitely highlight hunger and not eating when you’re not hungry and eating when the hunger subsides.
