1440 p looks slighty sharper to me, but I prefer lower res and higher frames when I'm gaming. 1080p is still great.
ОтветитьPlaying on 1440p at good frame rates & good image quality require high end costlier gpus and high end processors. If you can afford RTX xx70 and above, i7 or Ryzen 7 and above, then go for 1440p. If anything below, then play at 1080p with max graphic settings on budget gpus like RTX xx60 with i5 newer generations or i7 older generations.
Also, 1080p with ultra settings > 1440p with medium-high settings, in terms of both image quality and performance.
Depending on the game and your rig, 1080 will allow for higher fps so in tandam with a high refresh screen will look nice and smooth. On the other hand 1440 will look sharper but you may have to lower the settings to keep the fps high enough to seem as smooth. Theres a sweet spot you need to experiment and find depending on your hardware. generally the pixels per inch on a smaller screen 1080 will still look fine. But in a 60" telly your gonna see them jaggys so youll want a higher res to increase the pixel per inch count. This is all generalisation though. Again, experiment. Honestly the bigger issue is oled over led. The vastly superior colour gamet, pixel response times and the blacks, oh lord have mercey the blacks on oleds will have a vastly greater impact on your viewing pleasure then resolution. Hell some games look great at 720 on most monitor size screens. Juggle and experiment kids, juggle and experiment.
ОтветитьMakes your fps drop I tested it my self I used the same size and same refresh 1440p makes your gps drop by at least 30 to 40 fps
ОтветитьPresent 7 You're WRONG 1400p at 27" is NOT the same picture quality as 1080p at 24". Do your math pleb.
27" - 2560X1440 = 109 dpi
24" -1920X1080 = 92 dpi
So at the same viewing distance from monitor, 1400p at 27" is clearly better.. Run along now.
Bro to be fair I think everyone is missing the real point.
Don’t need 1080p if the highest ress you use is 1280x960 or 1024x768
Played on my buddies lg 1080 27 inch and my 1440p 27 inch. Only difference was smoother picture on 1080 but picture quality 1440p hands down
ОтветитьShould I upgrade? I have 1080p 144hz .. it’s either i get 1080p 244hz or 1440p 244hz
Ответить1080p sucks, 4K good monitors with equivalent features and response time will cost 2x more than 1440p, or atleast is what i'm facing on my country, so 1440p is the way to go, but yeah, if the cost difference was not so big, i would go to 4K.
ОтветитьBut on 24 Inch, 1080p is Fine Right?
ОтветитьWhy buy a new 2K monitor to run games with low graphics settings? maybe it's better to buy 1080p but with a better matrix? For example, instead of TN, buy IPS or WOLFED and run games with high graphics settings. The user is encouraged to change the monitor to 2K in order to then change the hardware of his properly working computer, which would subsequently force him to buy more expensive hardware and bring more profit to the manufacturer? It's so disgusting, techno bloggers are not on the side of consumers but work closely in conjunction with manufacturers, because their income comes from advertising. And who pays the one and orders the music)
Ответитьif my 8 year old pc and gpu can run games at 1440p and 240hrz, then there is no excuse saying you can't run 1440p
Ответитьsome people just can't get over other's PPi
ОтветитьWill a 1080p video look worst on a 1440p monitor than a native 1080p monitor??
Ответить1080p is outdated GARBAGE... 20 year old resolution is a joke. 1440p at 27 inches is soooo much better.
Anyone still on a 24 inch monitor is a Pleb... Nobody needs anything above 144hz to 165hz, all those so called "Pro Gamers" are full of crap.
Don't be bamboozled by the "Pro Gamer" BS hype, it's wrong. Pro Tip: only 2% of gamers are actually competitive, the rest are wanna be Plebs that got sold a load of garbage marketing.
why do all these pc nerds always play overwatch.. how can i take you seriously
Ответитьi love how clueless this guy is, why is he spouting u need to invest 1400dollars to run 1440p, any gpu can run it if ur not on a mac, whatever crack this guy is smoking i want in
Ответитьi think all the midnight gaming cooked these guys retinas 😂 1080p is perfect
ОтветитьWell since Grown men are killing the gaming industry with there involvement 1080p at 60-120 the latest games for 400 bucks is amazing for the kids since that's who there made for well.. that when men were men
ОтветитьYou should not ignore ppi.
ОтветитьThis guy is a used car sells man. 1080p is king for high level competitive gaming. I have a 27 OLED 1440p and I use my 24 inch 1080p when I want to PWN noobs.
ОтветитьBro I been watching your videos and this monitor you been using is glorious
Ответитьwe need more 1440p 24-25 inch high refesh rate monitors.
ОтветитьI still use a high end 27” Asus 1080p panel from 10 years ago, and I absolutely still enjoy gaming on it. I use a Zotac RTX 3070ti card maxed to any game on a recently built i7 computer, and for the first time since I started gaming back in the 90’s my computer is pretty much dead silent, and I get to enjoy incredibly smooth gameplay with graphics maxed out. I’ll eventually move to 4k, but it’s not as important as you think.
Ответить1440p is where its at honestly upgraded from a 1080p 144hz to a 1440p 360hz few months back and i could never go back currently still use the 144hz as my 2nd display and its actually kind of jarring how low 144hz feels now to me
Ответить1080p above 1440p for me. Here's why (just to help people)
1) That expensive part really does it for me. Even IF you find cheap monitors/graphics cards, it'll be expensive enough and "once" you have 1440p, there is NO TURNING BACK! So expect expensive money wasting for ever...
2) Not to mention the games. Yes competive is 1 part of the gaming community, but people who are enjoying their single player experience, will have a greater time playing at 1080p. They would technically experience it even better with 1440p, however... This will "yet again" come at a very expensive experience, cause if you see starfield, you won't be able to get 60fps so easaly...
3) IPS... If you want a good monitor, people will need to go IPS which is expensive. VA is cheaper but too dark.
4) The vast majority still plays on 1080p as mentioned by yourself, and no we are not idiots xD. There are simply those of us who don't have money...
So a good IPS 1080p144hz is still the better choice here...
Unless it's 1080p360hz, and you want 300fps, yea, those are expensive and then by all means, it's better to go 1440p.
Dude why is it always about competitive fps games? Most gamers are casuals and want an immersive experience. 1080p will not provide that.
ОтветитьI have a 1080p alienware monitor but im just going for fps. Never had a 1440p monitor but dont think it will make that much of a difference.
Ответитьtalking bollox. coming from someone who owns a 4k tv and 4k player and a physical collection, there is no quality difference in a 50 inch 1080p and 4k in the detail. until you reach insane sizes, resolution is unnoticeable. Most cinemas for nearly 20 years now have been using digital 2k resolution and you probably didn't even notice it wasn't film or 4k digital and that's a 40foot width.
Ответить1080p is too low resolution, it is a handicap.
ОтветитьHey Display Guy, genuinely enjoy your humour and love how you vehemently abhor matte displays like I do. Can you do a video on monitors that you would actually recommend that are preferably glossy? Much appreciated.
ОтветитьIt should be illegal to buy 1080p monitors or TV in 2023!
ОтветитьI am on a 1080p 500hz panel and I am okay with playing in it for now.
My games are R6, CSGO, Valorant, DBD, OW2, Apex
Factually any monitor with a refresh rate higher than 165hz is a waste .
And using 1080p on a 27 inches monitor is a no go in 2023.
Im looming to upgrade to a 1440p and the Asus TUF monitor is going for $250 at 240hz
ОтветитьI use a 32 inch monitor and I must say. You must at least have a 2k resolution, 1080p is not cut out for the 32 inch size. The pixel scattering is just not worth it. Let it be for gaming or artwork. 1080p is simply not a minimum requirement for 32 inch monitor. Btway I now run 32 curved 165hz ips. And I must say. You have to try higher than 60 75 herts monitor, its a whole different world. But once you get in. You cant go back. Feels like youre watching a 30fps speed while doing 60.
Ответитьif only 23.8" 1440p 240Hz+ monitors were a thing MANY eSports players (and also the casual tryhards) would upgrade, some people just don't want 27"+ displays man...
Ответить1440p is the sweet spot, 27 inch is perfect for me, 32 still feels like a tv size… I picked up the MSI 272QPF for £230 from £300 and seems great (1440p 1ms 177hz) feels great I just find £400-£600 steep for what I need it for 👍
ОтветитьOn 1440p but with a 21:9 screen. Cannot go back to traditional aspect ratio.
ОтветитьCompetitive gaming is different than recreational. 1080p is the perfect middle ground and what a lot of people play on/are used to. Back in the day people used to play Counterstrike on 4:3 720p settings and when it was migrated to CSGO, a lot of older competitive gamers still preferred the smaller resolution with slower mouse speeds. I do not think one is inherently better than the other I truly believe it’s personal preference. But objectively speaking the less pointless information your eyes have to comb through the faster you get on target. The brain is very adaptable however, and the new generation will be very accustomed to 1080p/1440p gaming.
Ответить720P 1000hz >
ОтветитьGo straight to 4K people. Turn off volumetric fog and similar worthless settings, and run DLSS. still looks wayyyyy better than 1440p.
Ответитьi am very happy with my acer predator 1440p 240hz screen 😊
Ответить4k is best
ОтветитьI play stretched so I don't gotta upgrade at all :)
Ответитьmostly agree but a high quality 1080p gaming monitor can be cheaper and better than a lower quality 1440p gaming monitor, you can also upscale to 1440p for better aliasing
ОтветитьI play @ 4k 240fps on Apex Legends and i can't go down to 1440p after that. I use a Samsung Neo G8. When OLED drops next year I'll get that and upgrade to the 5090 when that comes out.
ОтветитьWhat about using DLDSR on a 1080p monitor? You get superior image quality and you don't have to get a new monitor.
Ответить
