I’m so sorry if the audio is messed up and gets too loud or too low in some places or if I sound weird or rushed, I’m still new to recording 🫣. I really wanted to get this video up before the premiere of Feud season 2 but it took me way longer to edit than I thought it would because it was so long! Also I'm sorry if i mispronounce any words or names! All I know is I am NEVER making an hour long video again 😭.

Guess what. We all have tragedy. We all have to cope with it. Without the resources these people had. Sniff. Grow up.

This was an interesting and well-done compilation of the lives of these rich socialites, filled with all the artifices that money could buy, but completely devoid of happiness. They should have been pitied, not admired.

Truman saw his mother in these women and he never could think of them as true friends. He did to them what he wanted to do to his mother. He had a deep hate for women because of her and because he himself could never be a women. The man was sick and how they could not recognize this in him is crazy. Watch who you tell your secrets to. And if someone wants to confine in you tell them you would rather not know secrets destroys relationships.

This is truly an excellent narrative - meticulously researched and surprisingly indepth. Kudos!

I feel compelled to add this: Truman Capote's life ended tragically because, imho, his vanity got in the way. But what I find most surprising is how no recent bios - due to all the chatter about the miniseries, Feud: Capote vs. the Swans - mention that, while Capote never finished Answered Prayers (thankfully), he did publish, in 1980, what many consider his finest work, Music For Chameleons.

A 2015 article in The Atlantic, by Jonathan Russell Clark, titled, "In Search of the Real Truman Capote," says this:
"Thirty-five years after it was published, Music for Chameleons is the author’s best, most personal work."

I wonder if you've read any of the stories in this, Capote's last book, and if you agree with Clark's assessment.

Capote's betrayal was much worse that Swans husbands affairs were, because it went directly to these unhappy women trust. Being a homosexual man myself, and having felt the contempt of a certain kind of gay men all my life, I understand the mentality behind his disrespect, which is more common between hair stylists than worthy intellectuals. I judge it as disgusting and inhumane. What stupefies me is that he thought he could get their trust back: how delusional was that? He had lost all contact with reality & common sense, this is why he had written such a "thing".

I wanted to watch the television version of this story but this was much, much better! You look at these women with their larger than life lifestyles and all they did was ho’around with each other’s husbands SMH 🤦🏽‍♀️ Truman Capote was a dirty lowdown dog 🐕

Only in America is a place on the best dressed list considered an accomplishment. Apart from marrying money and socialising with people much more talented then they could ever dream of none of these women achieved anything worth talking about. And if all of this is true, they were horrible mothers as well.
