ОтветитьI loved the video and information given. I have but 1 question to ask. Why do you remove the rings? I have an idea, just want to know. I have been interested in canning for a Very long time, but never took a chance at it. I watched my grandmother, aunts and my mother. So I think it's time I do it myself. So I hope that someone can answer that qurstion. Thank you for sharing this, and loved the information you gave. Angie from eastern North Carolina but live in Colorado now. Have a Wonderful day everyone 😊❤😊
ОтветитьQuick question. Is there a reason to remove the ring? I’m glad I watched this, since my wife just canned and missed the processing part. Thanks!
ОтветитьWhat a great introduction to canning! I appreciate your clear, intelligent explanations, as well as all the dependable resources you provide.
Thank you!
Just the website and the books alone were a lot more then I’ve been told, but with all the rest of the information was amazing. Thank you so much.
ОтветитьAt the end of the video, when you took the rings off, did you put them back on? Cause it didn't look like it.
ОтветитьOk. This is a good video. I never canned. I watched one other video so far. 5 minutes in and I left because the woman had said nothing about how to can. Just 5 minutes of BS
ОтветитьYou are the first American to mention the Weck canning jars. I'd never expected that. Greetings from Germany
ОтветитьBut why does the website say “ for children”! 😂😂
ОтветитьYou have come so far from this video!
ОтветитьI didn’t know that i can remove the ring. What’ll happen if i keep the ring on. Is it save to just have the lid without the ring to secure it?
ОтветитьGreat video very helpful
ОтветитьOk so that’s what I’ve been doing wrong… I just started pickling and canning and I’ve been tightening the lid hard before putting in boiling water… finger tip tight. Thank you
ОтветитьThe first time I watched this video I was shocked to learn that the rings do not stay on the jars I've always thought they were just left as-is
ОтветитьWhat’s the point of preserving food in cans and also what does the hot bath do?

ОтветитьI'd been praying for guidance with beginning what I call "the journey to self sufficiency." It seemed like too big a task for someone like me, but I felt like it was something I needed to do. One night, I was scrolling on Instagram and one of your reels popped up. It was a short reel about the empty shelves at the grocery store. I sat straight up, went to you page, and immediately followed. I'm still in the preparation stages, getting my knowledge up and my supplies, but you really helped to reignite that flame by taking some of the fear out of it for me. Your kind and patient spirit jumps off the screen and puts me at ease about this process. Thank you for doing what you do. God bless!
ОтветитьGreat video, in about to make some apple butter and send it off. Your video is so helpful and in glad you got right to the point. I'm definitely subscribing.
ОтветитьQuestion- If I were to purée pure vegetables like peas, carrots etc and jar up for baby food how long would you process this since the jars are so small?
JW if anyone has made their own baby food with garden veggies and how they preserved it 😊
Could you turn up the volume?
Ответитьwe take the cans immediately or after the water get cooler?
ОтветитьOkay, you store them w/o the rings? And, why do we call it Canning when it's really jarring? 😁
ОтветитьThank you for a well presented, concise and instructional video.
Ответитьcan can
ОтветитьI love this straight to the point descriptive and effective thank you
ОтветитьExcellent! Great video!
ОтветитьLove the video! I have a question…I am a newbie to canning and am trying to can a sauce that contains raw onions, garlic & soy sauce… will water bath canning work for this?
ОтветитьHello! Rachel at That 1870s Homestead sent me. I'm looking forward to watching your vids while I work on my own harvest.
ОтветитьThank you! Do I need a wire rack for the bottom of the water bath? I've seen them used before so I'm wondering when a wire rack would be necessary and when it wouldn't?
ОтветитьThank you am going to start and thank you for the advice
ОтветитьI LOVE THIS. Thank you so much. 🥫
ОтветитьAwesome!
ОтветитьWhere do I get bottles and caning seal...plz give contact number and email to import india
ОтветитьRice, pasta, oats and eggs CAN be canned fresh or cooked. But I guess the government gives instructions so people keep being dependent on main ingredients.
ОтветитьMight I ask why leave the rings off? When shelving?
ОтветитьMy grandma and mom always left the rings on so it has been interesting seeing the small differences between then and now
ОтветитьLess narrative, more to the point! Your babbling!
ОтветитьLoved your tutorial. Thank you very much!🙂
