I’ve never seen this movie, but every time this scene comes up on my recommendations, I always watch it.

Why didn't the dad carry a knife? More dramatic to have to have the son cut his dads rope of course.

This would have been even better if the Dad had just cut the two guys loose without hesitation.

She should have put another cam in, they might have had a better chance of living. If the other two climbers stayed still, everyone could have survived. They been told not to move around, but didn't listen. When falling, they could move around all they want.

Imagine being the son in this situation. On one hand you need to cut the rope to reduce the weight. On the other hand, reducing the weight is sacrificing your father. I don’t know how I would live with myself in this scenario.

I may be in the minority, but I found the last shot to be honestly chilling. In most scenes in which someone fall to their death, they just fall off camera, but here, you actually see the dad hit the ground and die.

The CGI definitely did not hold up overtime in this movie.
