Count me in the small minority who isn't impressed by this style of guitar playing. Compare to Knopfler-- who has to sing simultaneously and uses finger picking, and without a backing track. Finger picking enables for multiple notes simultaneously, unlike this video's fast single note pickin, with some strumming and some hybrid. If he did the whole thing in hybrid, it would exhibit greater virtuoso skills and require far less backing track.
