Balloons for Bretta

A tragedy occured in March of 2009 that shook the fabric of our community in Western Washington. Our childhood friend and classmate Bretta Hawkins and her mother were brutally murdered by a man wielding an axe. All of us got together in remembrance of them and we wrote notes to Bretta and attached them to balloons which we then sent up to her in Heaven. It may sound crazy and even a bit bad for the environment but this was our way to gain closure after such a terrible set of circumstances took these beautiful lives away from us.
