Why not showing how they suffer and die without anesthesia.

They are trying to make it look like they are being kind to animals that are poisoned, cut open, forced to stay in solitary cages, fed in order to make their organs fail, have gas masks placed over their mouths and noses to force inhalation of toxic fumes... This is kind? There is no need to do these things to animals any longer as many more efficacious alternatives are advisable. As she says on the video, cruel and callous people are often in this field and supervision is not a priority.

Dogs are used by many labs, in the UK, 4,300 reported last year and that number is grossly underreported. 70,000 dogs are used in the United States with *very* low survival rates. 96% are beagles bred to be extra docile and loving so they don't bite. Most have their vocal cords cut and gas masks and needles are used on very young puppies so they will more easily accept this abuse when the make it to the labs and start being tortured at 7-8 weeks, sometimes younger. Animals don't need to be used, that's the bottom line. This is a very profitable industry. And so much of this research is done for products already on the market. The vast amount of tests have no correlation for humans. Different species have different responses.

It is great that she seems to like animals and at least gives them a friendly touch. Wish she wouldn't pick up mice by the tail as it induces anxiety and can compromise their welfare. Basic fact for someone who handles mice - use a cupped hand. These mice are bred like the beagles - extra submissive and unafraid of humans, though I'm sure that changes.

Given what's being done to all these animals, they should at least be given kindness and consideration. Where's the research on that? If you're going to use these animals for their bodies and take their lives, making them suffer purportedly for humans, shouldn't there be some applied knowledge on how to make them more comfortable while they are alive? A lot of labs don't use anesthesia because of the cost. Surgery without anesthesia. Yup.

The fact that these animals don’t get to choose what they do, I worked in animal facility’s for over 6 years.. they use dogs to and they bleed every day In there cages… they deserve a better life and if you do this then you are responsible for your actions you are out to the blame.. (I work in these labs and they pretend to be nice but they are not but I am undercover in these labs)

I'm a former employee at two different research facilities that used animals. Research using animals is like terrorism in that terrorists hide psychotic urges behind religious and political beliefs, while researchers who inflict pain and death on animals hide their psychotic urges behind scientific beliefs and career status. Torturing animals is also an early symptom exhibited by serial killers and school shooters - the difference being that the research scientists remain frozen in the animal torture phase and don't progress to preying on humans.

Animal research is like a zoo, for the moment it's a necessary evil that will one day stop until then animal care/welfare must be the priority. Those preaching to stop it would soon be complaining if a sick relative couldn't overcome it without these testings.

I think animal testing should be stopped every where on all animals monkeys mice rats pigs cows horses chickens turkeys it cruel and abusive and torture these animals for no reason I even stopped eating meats cause of the way they slatter them they all have a right to life we human being are taking it away from all animals

Hopefully soon I will be trained up to be a trainee animal technician and then go up from there I'm not sure what kind of animal care related job I want yet but I believe that doing this will help me figure out what I want to do.

Animal testing and experiments are cruel! How would you like to be tortured by a much bigger species only for them to “justify” it saying that it was saving their lives? Please, please, please stop animal testing and experiments! Please shop cruelty-free (using Goodsearch, supporting an ethical, animal-friendly cause, buy a cruelty-Free guide off of the BUAV or your country’s equivalent)! Please don’t support charities that use animals in experiments and research (e.g Cancer Research UK, British Heart Foundation, Alzheimer’s Society, Motor Neorones Society or whatever they’re called and others)! wow the stupid people in the comments are obviously aren't bachelor graduates. they are basically spouting out nonsense ignorant things that they think is morally right. if yall want to not support animal testing then dont consume any medication or treatment because they are most likely to be a product of both animal AND human testing. Yes humans are also tested after animal is deem safe. Yall are clueless, animal testing is not the final step to continue to the public market. Once animal testing is done, it has to go through many many human clinical trials (which are in fact human experiments with consenting subjects) before it can be deemed safe to be release in public. But even if it is already in the market there will still be ongoing research.

I think one really should find the middle ground. Even if left of center usually, ban private ownership of monkeys, that sort of thing, I don't have a big problem with lab animals if treated as humanely as possible. (from 4.40) - she recalled the story of a coworker who didn't bother cleaning up the dogs because 'they're going to die anyway' which she thought was terrible, and thought to herself she can't 'abandon them now'. she then says she wants experimentation on animals to end, but whilst she knows they are continuing to be used she wants to be the one to look after them because she cares about them. she is literally ON YOUR SIDE. she is NOT your enemy. the argument that if no one did the job out of protest, the practise would end - no, facilities would just hire people who don't care, like that asshole with the dogs. social reform doesn't come about from giving hate to fellow animal lovers and protectors at the bottom of the institutional food chain. her job is hard, and sad enough.

Whoever's paying 'grandstanding' animal research to produce these videos isn't getting any value for money. More follywood than Hollywood, featuring 'hypocrisy on legs' prepping animals for torture so that someone else can take a stab at mining animals for data which cannot be extrapolated to humans. I do not understand why in this day and age we are still testing on animals. It is barbaric and completely unacceptable. There are far more ways to test and are not only cruelty free but far more accurate then using animals. Humans are not rats, Humans are not rabbits. Humans are humans with completely different genetics to these animals. Its absurd to think because what can be cured in a mouse can be cured in a Human. I genuinely believe that animal testing is obsolete in this age of supercomputers, virtual reality and ever more increased understanding of the physiology of animals, including humans. Furthermore it is even more unethical as it used to be, when our knowledge of physiology was still limited, and there were no other options available. To continue using animal experiments is basically saying "I'm either too lazy to make the switch, and/or i'm too heavily funded and I'm affraid they take my funding away, and well what do you expect me to do? Search for a new position or job? No thanks, I'm lazy!"

Great video. Very informative and truthful - refreshing to see the bright and positive reality that is the use of animals in research. Where would we be without such amazing research? we'd still be dying in our 40's of treatable illnesses.

For all haters: If you are against animal experimentation. Than also do not use anything that was tested on animals, like:

Food or medicine for your pet
Any medicine, including painkillers
Any other heath treatments, including vaccines
Anything with plastic in it, like pens, combs, spoons or whatever
And I can go on for some time.

That basically means you will have to live in a log cabin, and you will not have a long lifespan. I am not in favor of animal experimentation, but it is necessary. This does not mean everything should be allowed! Labs have a lot of rules and the people working in them try to prevent all forms of unnecessary discomfort.

If I had the choice being an experimental animal or someones pet, I would go for an experimental animal. No kidding! I hear worse stories from veterinarians than from researchers. People that refuse to put their dog down when it is sick as hell, because 'it has no pain'. Being really sick is a lot worse than pain. Or even worse, people that wants to put their healthy, young dog down, because they want to go on a holiday.

It is easy to should you are against it, but accepting all the products it has provided.

Test on pedophiles, killers and the real criminals. They can repay society, and they have a voice. Why practice on something that cannot understand its suffering? As opposed to people who just ignore their health warnings. Granted I don't tar everyone with the same brush, with some it's a born condition or rare. We won't realise what we have done to the natural world or its inhabitants, until it's all destroyed.

You should never test on animals it is horrible it is note humane to me in any way
