There were two bright spot from this series, Jenna Ortega nails Wednesday Addams' character on almost every level and Fred Armisen easily matches Christopher Lloyd as Uncle Fester. Most of the Addams family was actually well cast. However, they weren't given much to work with story wise.
The idea the Wednesday would would make a good detective was a stretch at best. That was made worse by an incredibly lame and obvious "mystery." Let's see, in modern Hollywood is the killer going to be one of the diverse people or the straight, white male who the plot desperately invents reasons to keep him around in each episode... hmm... I wonder. The cast of the school was also beyond terrible and I found myself hoping Wednesday would let the school be destroyed, which would be more inline with her traditional character.
I would hope the reformulate the show to use the stellar cast of the Addams Family in something more interesting, but I doubt it.

Wednesday is one of my favourite characters

This show is for all the weird’s that want to be romanticized for there weirdness. But the thing is you lack everything this made up character gains. She is what you can call alpha. You, you are a scrawny teenager that has a nic addiction and gets anxiety from thinking too hard. The only thing you and this character have in common is that you both have a “im special” ego
