RR Invade Swansea Ghost Mine

Thurs, Apr 4, 2024, Railside Riders Invades Swansea Ghost Mine. Headed out from Pirates Den RV Resort on the Parker Strip, AZ. Drove south on Riverside, then 1 block on Hwy 95, left of Lakeside Blvd and off into the desert. Followed the Powerline trail to Osborne Wash (AKA Parker 400 racetrack)(AKA the Goat Trail), then left on Shea Rd for maybe 1/2 mile and turned right on Swansea Mine Rd. Stopped for breaks on the Goat Trail and at the CAP Canal. Spent about 2 hrs. at Swansea exploring the historic site, had lunch and then followed the path of the old railroad out to Lincoln Ranch Rd. Then west to Midway, there we turned north briefly on Bouse Rd and turned west on the Powerlines. Followed them back to Swansea Mine Rd, then Shea Rd. Finaly, turned off Shea at the small power poles and followed them back to the racetrack and finally under the highway and back on pavement. Stopped at The Bar for refreshments. Great day!
