Tell you something my mom used to make me back in the 70's when I was a teenager. She would take a triangle scarf and fold the pointed end over and sew it. She would leave a hole big enough to put my choker necklace through. Metal chokers were popular back then. I could then put the choker around my neck and tie the longer ends around my waist. I was 5'6 and 110 lbs. I wasn't skinny looking. I still had an hour glass shape. My waist was small enough that I could easily tie the two longer ends around my waist.

I made the top too, last year, its very similar to yours with two buttons on back to close and the straps are sewed liniar (not in cross), with blue flower print material too, it turned out pretty. Thank you 🤍🙏🌈🌻

I just made this top, and I’m in love with it. I used some leftover velour and satin with the band and left boob being velour and the right boob being satin. I think it’s so cute and it’s definitely my favorite project I’ve done. Because my fabrics weren’t the easiest to work with, I found myself hand-sewing a lot which made the project last a lot longer than it would have otherwise. I also love that you left a lot of room for interpretation, so I tried out my own ideas for the straps and how to close the back. Overall, it’s so cute and I’m so proud of it!!

I like the top but how do i make it look nice without showing much of my stomach has a little fat on it but id like to make itcute looking but not so short under my breast line is either??

Really nice tutorial. I would have bought 100 patterns before trying this type of dress. I admire the process, the attention to details and coping with the difficulties. And an amazing end result. Classy fabric too.

What kind of fabric did you use

Christian Dior just copied you. On Vogue, he used almost the same top to create a long black dress. In the same way that you did, he placed a gap in the front between the two sides of the top.
