no romagnal cultures is a shame. THe reason why bologna was the first law school of europe it's because of her proximity to the "land of romans", the Romagna, the only place in north italy that was not taken by Longobards and in wich there still was Romans (eastern aka byzanthyne). Ravenna, FOrli, Rimini etc was protected by a big lagoon and they were and are today very different from the Emiliani.

Florence was not a Signoria in that time frame. It was an Oligarchy: the Arti choose one rappresentative among each Arte and put in a consilium where they rule the city, only the owner of manifactory can vote, not the worker of said Arte. That lead to an important revolt (La rivolta dei Ciompi 1378) where worker of the Arti want to have an Arte of workers and be part of the governance of the city, that revolt put a stop to the production of cloth and other important export. That was very entrenced with black death cause the number of workers go down and specialized workers can have more power after the death of half of the popolation. Then after Cosimo the First who was still a Gonfaloniere della repubblica start the real Signoria but it was in middle of 15 century.

I'm from Treviso and yeah, I think there should be an Island to rappresent Venice, it will be accurate, even make it a little bigger should be fine, like in EU4. Also good to see Marsh land on venice.
