Missing biggest point: body removes co2 which raises the frequency of the body to an alkaline state. The immune system has full free space in an alkaline body - but keep in mind that body needs to be slightly acidic in order to perform in an active state.

Our system is often too busy with inflammation (co2).

Thank you Dr. Huberman for a brief scientific recap of the astounding and life changing effects of this utterly simple practice. Thank you for your work and revealing the (unfathomable) genius of our Maker, in us. 2 years almost daily, this mild "stressor" has helped recovery from stress, and in averting any colds, fllus or other issues. Does not replace exercise, lol. Bless you, and thank you Lewis.

I did this breathing when I was septic from having a ruptured appendix (at home for days w/o realizing it after ER missed it and sent me home with a misdiagnosis) I lived and was ultimately admitted to the hospital and treated for 13 days for sepsis still doing this breathing and I lived so I would say this helped me survive.

I've been doing wim hof for years. 5 minute holds are average now. I've only had two minor colds over the last 4 years. I'm not sure that's because of breathing, but interesting. Exercise (getting your body hot) helps with immunity a lot as well.

Totally wrong explanation. The weer not injected with e coli. And there are no killer cells liberated. On the opposite, the immune system that normally makes you feel sick is inhibited by the breathing.

This misrepresents the study. Wim Hof group also trained with Wim for a week, including lots of cold exposure which materially increases white blood cells.

Why everyone missing out on the important point of the study? It was a dead bacteria E. coli, not the one that would really hurt you, the method actually turned off the immune system, that was the output of the study. Please stop this disinformations about WHM. It is a very good method even without this superpowers that are simply not true.

The breath hold does the trick, hyperventilation (30 fast breaths) depletes c02 causes constriction and negative effects.

People were injected with endotoxine. That’s a piece of shell from a death cell / bacteria. No e. Coli bacterie was ever injected.

If you inject endotoxine or another death cell in a human body, it triggers your natural immune system and within that proces it’s healthy that your body reacts due to an increase of c reactive protein in your blood (crp). But you won’t get really sick because it’s just a signal molecule.

On the other hand it’s really interesting that you point this out, because the real science behind such research is how to use antibodies to fight bacteria’s in a human body as an alternative to antibiotics. Every knows that the global resistance against antibiotics is a serious issue. Trust me, the WH methode isn’t the solution, otherwise he should have received the Nobel Prize by now.

The only conclusion about the results of the radboud university who performed this experiment around 2013 was that more research was required. So far nothing was published in this area since …

So we both stopped this and we both never had it again.
