Quite an adventure fr ger first film.Surprisei gly well written and portrated, The maturity level of matilda showed thru with her Acting Ability. I BECAME QUITE ATTACHED TO THEIF CHARATERS CLOSENESS ,NEITHEF ONE HAVEI G A YONE BUT EACH OTHER.

One of the most Nail-biting edge of seat drama I've seen for a long while. As for young actress she couldn't have done better by acting her part.. Superb...really Suberb... Wasn't Mr Raineo also in a movie with Patricia D'Arcy.? Who played a deepsea diver... I just forget the name of the movie.? Where he went diving with Porpoises and as the story goes he never came back... Quite a sad movie... Hahaa

I have my personal 'Hall of Fame' DVD library in my home there are only 20 movies in it an LEON is in the list! As soon as I saw this film I knew it would be a classic. The chemistry between Jean and Natalie shines through making this a beautiful story he rescues Matilde and becomes her pseudo 'father'. I wont add any spoilers in case you havent seen it. SUPERB 10/10👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏

So nice to see this interview. It is definitely one of my favorite movies of all time. Natalie and Jean were fantastic and when a movie is regarded as a classic it usually has a supporting cast which is equally wonderful and that's what the case was in this movie.
Yes, as Natalie said there were many scenes in the movie where editing was necessary and I believe all the right choices were made. I know this movie brought Natalie a lot of positive reactions and jump started her career. But, in my mind, it should have gone on way beyond that. She wasn't good or very good. She was fantastic. Her stoic demeanor in most of her scenes was something that a viewer was in awe of her performance as they watched the movie. Jean, of course is a famous international actor and any movie with him in it makes that movie special.
It's now 9/20/2023, so I'm a little late with my comment but I wanted to go on record with my thoughts.

I always hoped for a sequel with Natalie all grown and taking on the role of the Hit Woman. It's just too bad that they killed off Reno's character. But I loved The Professional. Reno taking on the role of a caring nurturing Father figure. His loner character who never had anyone in his life that he was responsible for before. Not until Natalie came along. He just had a plant before. Now he has this kid that he treats as a daughter after she lost her parents. Not that they were any good. But Reno's character proved to be more of a parent than her actual parents. He cared about her and did everything he could to protect her. He even got revenge on those that murdered her family.

I had always thought it would’ve been a good sequel if when Natalie was no 16 17, 18,19 or 20 to replace him and become a hitman

The chemistry between actors makes a great movie along with a good script and music. This movie had it all.

She was awesome with Jean, another great movie by Luc Besson

I never understand why in old interviews, they sometimes only have the camera on the interviewer, even when the actor/actress is speaking.

I'm dying to heart his, but the sound discrepancy between barely hearing Natalie and Jean and the interviewer's voice which is extremely loud, is too harsh. So sad.

HOW ABOUT the obvious PEDOPHILIC side of this picture???? Most americans have never ever even seen the long european version of the film..... People should understand who Besson is/was.... a PEDO.

This film could never be made today,but in 90s...there was a different time.
Original script that never get to big screen was much more disturbing and even this filmed version was cutted in several version because of various cenzorship in different parts of the world.
Luc Besson was in relationship with underage girl during the filming but this are almost not known facts because Leon was made almost 30 years ago.
Movie is iconic because of great soundtrack,interesting and emotional story and of course a time period in which is made.
Creepy and very visible pedophilic tendencies that are packed with the story made the film even then highly controversial.
Like i said if somebody try to do same stuff today he would be most likely arrested and production halted at the spot.

all actors in this movie should win the Oscar especially Gary Oldman

This movie remind me when I was kid. My mother's friend asked if he can take me to Bali island. So we went to Bali.I was younger and don't know what's going on. In Bali my mother's friend took me around and I saw many foreigners or we called tourist, they looked at me like I'm something. And lots of time my mother's friend leave me alone in the room while he's gone, I don't know where. He was good man. If this happens nowadays maybe many men will rape or abuse or kill.

Natalie was SUCH a gem. 🙂 Talented, intelligent, gorgeous, delightful, respectful, and just absolutely everything that made an artist a true artist. I remember when I saw this film in the theatre, I immediately knew the world would be seeing her A LOT more of her. Truly stunning commitment, truth, and emotional vulnerability.

I'm also glad that overall, she wasn't destroyed by the dangers of Hollywon't. Even though--ugh--she was definitely sexualized. 😕
