I'm going to avoid poc, though i was interested in this helmet because the cutouts near the ears. Wrote their customer service a question in email, no response over a week later.

That nonsense doesn't deserve my money.

I am going to buy a new full face as my old Poc Coron is way to big and heavy.

I have always been using medium sized helmets and when testing the Fox it fitted me in a M but almost destroyed my ears getting it on, now 4 days later my ears still hurts. The Poc in medium was physically impossible to get on and the Large felt, as said in the video way too big, I looked silly with this giant head.

The third helmet I tried was the Smith. I am a bit biased as I have two open faced helmets already, which I love, actually a third one too for commuting, all in Medium. But the Mainline had to be a Large to fit, I guess it is my jaw that is a bit bigger. Although this is a bit heavier and probably also warmer I am pretty sure I will go for this one as it felt great, more safe and even if I have to go for Large it didn’t look very big on me. Just have to find a color I like, probably have to search for one from the earlier seasons 😊

Giro and Leatt was ruled out. The others wasn’t available. And TDC Stage wasn’t either available which I think could be fine too.

You totally forgot the Dainese linea 01! Lightest DH helmet,(like 570g) I love mine, ill check out that newer fox though.

There's still not many NTA 8776 Rated full face helmets yet.

Poc otocon and smiths mainline (updated/Cert ) are nta8776)

If anyone looking to get the POC... don't get it. By far the weirdest ff helmet fitment I've ever tried. Hard to get into, and insane pressure points. The face padding isn't even secured by button grommets. For the money you're better off buying something else.

Thanks for great review. I appreciate that you tell your head size and how different models fit your head. People have different head shapes but this is quite helpfull for finding correct size.

I'm looking for a minimalist urban full-face helmet for an e-bike. Everything I found so far screams downhill while what I really need is something sleek that still gives me the extra protection e-bike that goes fast and zips in traffic (in my mind) needs. Any ideas?

Good one. Short and straight to the point. Perfect. There are people that would give the same amount of info in 10min. They would talk about their lives , their dogs, etc and all I want to know, is if the damn helmet is good or not.

I broke my Proframe on it's first ride, never ever again. Just for looks I could build a cardboard helmet too that brakes with nothing and say "if it brakes it did it's job!" Shitty helmet just for looks and for new full-sus owners who like long photoshoots for their instagram.

I have exactly the same issues with POC. I bought a large otocon and it kept slipping down my forehead. Also had an issue with the back of the helmet interior catching. I decided to get rid of it and presumed a POC medium would be better. Bought a POC Coran mips in medium and it is like squeezing melon into an eggcup. I have a Smith sesion trail lid with mips, it's a medium and fits so well.... think I'll get the mainline....

Some of these helmets look great. My main issue is there is limited choice for me. My head size is 64 cm. So most of these will succeed in squeezing my skull. Stinks though. Would've loved that Leatt one just to be able to take the chin guard off.

No Troy Lee?
A nice helmet would have built in speakers for music, calls, notifications from my garmin indicating heart rate, upcoming turns, and a walkie talkie option with friends amdof course mounts for a night light. All that under 800 grams. Maybe a there is a market for this since ebike is the future

Does the 7IDP allow for goggle to get tucked in under the visor? It seems to have such little space there.

Hey, would you recommend any of these helmets for BMX? I understand that that's not their intended use, and that's not what your channel's about, but a lot of BMX riders wear downhill helmets, and I see that these ars DH certified

I've got a Goofy shaped head, was really happy with how my Mainline fit. Also breathes really well, but it feels sketchy riding some of the bigger park hits with something that "miniscule," if that's the right word

Fit. Ventilation. Weight. Cleaning ease & Cost. As a certified Slob, ease of cleaning is important to me, and many liners don't hold up well.

Of the helmets mentioned, my partner and I had the Fox, IXS, POC and Smith here. The POC didn't want to suit either of us. One size was too small, the other too big. In terms of quality, however, I found it to be non plus ultra and would have taken it immediately if it had fitted.. The IXS didn't seem to me to be of high quality and not very stable. The Fox is simply super expensive but couldn't really convince me with the wearing comfort. We both ended up buying the Smith Mainline because it fit super well. He sat tight without pressing. The only drawback for me is the safety lock. That's always a bit fiddly with gloves. But it is super ventilated and was very convincing when pushing up and driving up the trail. No comparison to my previous full-face helmet, under which I could barely breathe with light exertion. I was also a bit concerned that the Smith Mainline's creaking would bother me. You can hear it, but after a few minutes you no longer notice it.

Great honest review 👍.
I got the Leatt Gravity in medium and had to send it back for a large at 58cm. Felt tight on the forehead. Funny you had the opposite experience but obviously no two head shapes are the same.
That POC though, Piece Of Chit?😆
