Obscura | 1 hour of Dark Ambient Fantasy Music | RPG Dungeon Ambience | D&D Audio | ASKII

One aspect of Fantasy Music I always wanted to try is Dungeon Music. Thinking of the Ayleid Ruins of The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, I clearly remember the intimidating atmosphere wandering through those dungeons, even in the late game as a skilled character. But it wasn’t only the zombies, the faint lights and deadly traps, but also the music that created this immersive atmosphere. An impression that lasts till today.

I decided to take a similar approach as I did in Natura on the underworld journey, going for different chapters. I chose a dungeon, a cave system and an underground tomb complex. Each got a short, drafted background story, a main potential threat (bandits, monster spiders and undead creatures) and based on all that, its very own distinctive character in music. I wanted to create some connections to my game memories, but also add my own interpretation of how it should sound.

To make the experience as immersive as possible, I didn’t want to stick to an animated still image, so I chose to dive into the world of the Unreal Engine 4 creating a level scene with some asset packs - the world of Obscura came to life.

From Abyss of Souls to the end, I kinda got reminded of the Blackreach ambience from Skyrim, and I just loved those parts! This is amazing and should be watched by more people

Éste video ya me dio miedo, lo vi en la pantalla grande de mi smart con la luz apagada y zas..!
La música da escalofríos, el ambiente tétrico asusta, es como estar allí y caminar entre todos esos lugares, de noche mucho mejor ya que la oscuridad y la quietud nocturna aportan a la experiencia para con el video, una verdadera claustrofobia, un frío que te recorre la columna de arriba a abajo, no me tomé muy en serio cuando lo vi por el celular, pero en la pantalla del smart se ve mortal, es como caminar dentro de una pesadilla, donde cada lugar es como si del más allá se tratara.
Obscura me dejaste con la boca abierta, después de Cryo Chamber y atrium carcery no he encontrado nada más profundo ni más asombroso que el video por el cual hoy tendré pesadilla.
Genial, no había visto nada igual más que en un juego.
