I want a 6 inch on mine but nobody makes them! I own a 1989 GMC K2500 6 lug bolt a heavy 1/2 ton i dont know if the hubs need to be converted to 8 but not one soul makes a lift for it makes me mad

When you lift your truck, if your a guy who does trades and uses the truck for work, it’s probably not a great idea just cause when it’s higher up, it’s higher for you to lift things up to put in the bed. I had a friend who did tile, and this just made his job a lot harder. If your not tho, a lift definitely makes the truck look a lot better.

Step 1: have a truck.

I added a 4in chassie 6 inch body an out 33 in tires ...be prepared to 6 months to 2yrs have to reolace the rear differential and 30days to 2yrs new power. Steering pump .my advice when you replace them just go ahead an put the same amount back again cuz if not it will break when again when you cant afford to fix it

Well, most people end up lifting after they get huge tires in there and start rubbing, and then they lift.
So, I will tell you guys something (hopefully before you run into the first problems)

If you want big tires there, you will have to do a lot of things to see if you can get away with those, so start by the very first problem... relocate your body mount bracket.

Then, lift the truck. Most people will be fine with a lift between 2.5 and 5 inches in the front and their respective 1 to 3.5 in the back.

So, go ahead, do your homework, look around, make a choice and lift that thing. Be sure to get new everything and if possible, get the whole suspension in the lift (with control arms, bushings, ball joints and all little pieces).
Once you lifted the truck and relocated the mody mount, then go ahead and get those big oieces of rubber. You will have to do some trimming to make it work, but it will be minor, mostly plastic and small sheet metal bending with a hammer. Not a big problem.

Rule #1: never lift an old rusty truck. Save yourselves a ton of money, broken bolts, and a tetanus shot.

I have a 2020 gmc sierra at4 I have done king suspension update rise it to 3 inches updated upc to total chaos
And updated the shaft in the suspension to 3 inches and 35 AT tiers I want to make a diff drop kit but my ride now is very very tough when i go up on a speed bump it go’s very hard and stif
Note I only go off-road on the sand
What can I do to make my ride more soft

Other than looking cool. Zero mechanical advantage to lifting a truck. Harder to stop, harder to turn and reduces torque.

Here’s something to think about regarding the weight of adding weight when you lift a half ton rated truck. I lifted a sequoia and went with 34.5 inch L/T tires. The difference in performance was dramatic and I wished I went with smaller tires in the end, just couldn’t get used to it. I ended up trading it in for a sports car. I bought a 2011 expedition later and the lift bug bit again. I decided on a smaller tire but more importantly cut down the tire weight. Toyo Open Country A/T make a passenger rated tire if you look. They weigh nearly 30# less than the A/T version. I got the 285/60R20 which is a 33.5 inch tire at 44# each. Using the same 3/2 ready lift on the expedition the performance hardly changed. I love it. Plus the tires are tough enough for my Florida off-road escapades.

I just installed the Rough country upper control arms on my 3" lvl silverado i had installed rotofab lvl kit and road on my stokc upper control arks and had a noise on my steering and now.its reduced seems like it after installing the upper control arms but now ik screwd for 2 days to get aligment and i need the truck for work i should be fine right?

One thing I almost never hear about. Is gearing for the larger size tire too keep some of the performance and power of the truck. People are excited to lift and go big or go home on these trucks. What about calculating the gear ratios to keep up.
