Brutally Honest Meta Quest 3 Review | Game Changer or Overhyped?

What are your thoughts on Quest 3? Worthy upgrade or overhyped?

Just got mine today and I honestly love it. I got a quest 2 last week with the Costco bundle deal to see if I was going to like it. I obviously did cause now I have the 3. A HUGE upside on the 3 vs the 2 is the much clearer picture. Text is easier to see and the blur I would notice on my 2 all of the time made me nauseas. No longer the case with the 3. That’s just me! That along with everything else that was improved is a huge plus.

Thing is, does it have rec room

Got mines the other day and can't even hook it up!.. God-dang device didnt come with wires!... im taking it back😢

One more thing to note, besides investing in a 3rd party head strap, I would also suggest investing in a third party facial interface. Not just the cushion, but the whole plastic insert the cushion goes on. I got an all in one kit made by AMVR on sale for $28. I think normal price is $35. Well worth it as the plastic interface piece has venting and flares out a bit more for a better seal and actually makes the FOV look better. The cushion that comes with it is miles better than the stock one.

It’s insanely visually stimulating as well.

I just got my quest 3, I'm deeply disappointed in the "HD" colour passthrough ..it's really grainy ..not nice at all..I feel I've been seriously lied too, 😡.

Can you use quest 2 head straps on quest 3?

Very good video, thank you. I am completely new to all of this. It seems like the headset has its own storage capacity up to 500 gigabytes(ish). It also seems that you can hook the VR headset to a computer. Please forgive me I'm going to use Netflix as both an analogy and an example. When I watch Netflix it comes in streaming and I don't need memory space for that, I just see the movie. Or, Netflix allows me to download a movie for when I'm on a plane. Is the virtual reality world essentially the same? Assuming I can also hook it up to a computer, do I actually need a bunch of onboard memory in the virtual reality device or can I just let the computer be that memory space? I don't know what I don't know.

Meta's absolutely killing it, 1/7th the price of Apple's and you can buy it today 😅

Why did they put the headphone jack on the right side when almost all headphones have the cable coming out of the left side?

My paranoia wouldn't allow myself from using this in my living room or any part of my place. If anything, I would allocate a room that has NOTHING in there. I don't want facebook to be recording my surroundings, hell na.

I am sitting here waiting for my Quest 3 to be delivered … and wondering if it was worth it - especially as a current PS VR 2 owner.

I found PS VR 2 great for VR gaming but it does not have the variety of other kinds of apps and flexibility that the Quest has.

So now I wonder if I would have been better off with buying a used Quest 2.

I wonder if it would fulfill my needs all with a much lower price.

all they gotta do is change the pass through cameras to at least 12-16 megapixels and then it should be clear. also add sensors on the top and bottom of the headset and sides for better overall tracking

I owned the Quest 3 and the Pro - The Pro is just so much better in every way - The passthrough is better on the Q3 but only kept my attention for roughly 3 minutes.

why tf does it costs 500$ what is 450€ in the usa but in euro 550€ ? xD

Nope, still lame. I'm sorry, I know most people disagree, but lighthouse tracked with a cable is still better. Having that small of a battery is too annoying; I should decide when it's time to stop playing, not the battery. Also, those speakers look terrible. It was almost worth considering at the quest 2 price but this is close to double that and it still has all the drawbacks of the 'cheap' alternative to pcvr.

Problems: Field of view and bad comfort. I’m not buying that..

Honestly, I’ve been watching many videos and reviews on the MQ3 (I’m getting it for Christmas) and I honestly don’t care if it’s bad or not.
My meta quest 2 was so terrible it was almost unplayable. Every 10 seconds my game would lag out or my controllers would disappear. The boundary would randomly change and I’d end up running into some sort of furniture. I genuinely can’t wait for the MQ3 to arrive so I can enjoy VR again.

It's awesome, except for the battery... it becomes passible with the elite battery, but it still should be better. Asgard's Wrath is blowing my mind right now!

The strangest thing about the Quest 3 was that the worst thing about the headstrap, for me, wasn’t its comfort, but how annoyingly long it took for me to first get it where it was passably fitting. Yes. It was actually tolerable for me to wear. In fact, ironically, in terms of comfort, it didn’t feel noticeably less comfortable than the freaking PSVR1, which was considered one of the most comfortable headsets of the time. I must’ve been wearing the PSVR wrong all these years or something…

How is Meta quest 3 with pc gaming, such as Half Life Alyx?

I got the quest 3 as my first ever be headset, and I really like it. Sure it was expensive, but I’m happy with its quality

Apple cheated mixed reality. They just like made a window and called it a day while meta is just trying to get all these fancy cameras in depth cameras and all that.

I would get one if it were like the psvr2, for the Xbox.
